Aww man, I thought I was the first to think of pony-fying him. I saw him as a unicorn, though.

Feel free to ponify him if you still want. Mine isn't official, and yes, there are some Lucas unicorns out there. D:

It's actually for a commentary I'm doing in the future. Though I find that I have too many alicorns in the cast - there's more of them than pegasi (which I think I only have like five of). Well, there's alot of characters who are either royalty or have some kind of connection gods in some way (Including Shulk, both Robins, Lucina, Chrom, Palutena, who actually is a god...) so meh. Using Ponymaker is fun!
Speaking of, I looked at your entry for Shulk. Y'know, it's fine that you don't know who characters are. But I'm tired of people making fun of characters just because of that reason. FE is an especially common butt of jokes, and I'm surprised Lucas and the Mother series in general doesn't get the same treatment. Like, I'm not a Xenoblade fan. Never played it, though it looks fun. But at least I gosh darn respect the characters I don't know! It's getting to the point I want to yell at someone that making fun of more obscure titles is not funny. Heck, the American's golden boy, Little Mac, is kind of getting the same treatment in Japan. Sorry for the rant, but just had to get that out. :/ As a Brony/Pegasister, you should know this!

If you're planning on ponifying those guys, I'd steer clear of alicorns for the most part. Royalty =/= alicorn, if that's your mindset. Magical prowess and ability have a lot to do with it, too.Β
And you're like the third person this week to have a beef with me calling Shulk that. It's a joke, guyyyyyyyys~! I don't mean it to sound negative; it's just an umbrella term for a sword-wielding bishie and nothing more. I don't even know anything about Shulk, so why would I hate him? And the Mother fanbase is the butt of a lot of jokes, especially from Nintendo, lol. We're all just a bunch of Pollyanna screwballs, so I guess it doesn't faze us as much.

A lot of the ones I named have their position because they have some kind of special power or have been blessed by the gods or something. For example, Peach is not an alicorn because she doesn't have the blessing of some kind of deity or special powers because of her position as far as we know. On the contrary, Marth and all his descendants can wield Falchion because of royal blood blessed by the god Naga, and as far as I know only a select amount of people within the bloodline can wield it. Robin was literally bred to be the vessel of an evil god, and Shulk was chosen to be the vessel of an evil god when he was 4. Though by that logic Link might qualify as well... And he's a definite earth pony.Β
And someone who ponyfied Elsa and Anna from Frozen told me that all royalty are alicorns, so I kind of got it mixed up there.
Sorry about that. :/ It's just that I see it so much that it's not really funny anymore. Well, and many people apparently don't like certain characters just because they don't know them or have the stereotypical anime look. MatPat on Game Theory is kind of what started my annoyance with it. And say that characters are "wasted slots" just because they don't know about them. This "wasted slot" thing really annoys me if it's for anyone, really. Like, I also got annoyed at Japanese fans claiming the same for Mac and some Miiverse posters (Japanese no less) pretty much making fun of Robin when he got in (though there were many more supporters than haters - and it wasn't as common as the Chrom-mocking. Which also got annoying real fast) It's not just him that I get defensive about. Well, I'm happy to know that you aren't another "Who the heck is this guy?!" prick. And really, you usually don't see Ness get mocked like his JRPG brethren in the Smash fandom. And at least they only get light jabs or potshots for the most part; look at how poor Lucina and (especially) Dark Pit are getting treated. I mean, is the clone rage still going on?

Again, position doesn't really qualify as one being an alicorn. According to the show, alicorns are appointed or made. Bloodlines have nothing to do with it; Twilight's an alicorn and she's not related to royalty through blood, while Blueblood is Celestia's nephew and he's not an alicorn. They also have to have a charge, to be the ruler or something beyond a family name. I... don't think being a vessel has anything to do with it, either.
Whoever said that was wrong, but it's a common misconception. Think about it; there's only 4 alicorns in the show, and 2 of them are assumed as goddesses. While there's really no wrong way to ponify, you gotta be careful when slapping the status of 'alicorn' on someone just because, 'Oh, they're royalty'.
Everyone tends to say that, sadly. LotsΒ of people thought Lucas was a waste of a slot because his game wasn't release worldwide. Yeah, because Smash isn't a game that came from JAPAN, or anything. People are like that sometimes. They tend to claim faults and say things are wrong just because they themselves don't agree, and it's sad, but it's life.Β I like how next to nobody liked the Ice Climbers in Melee, were shocked/annoyed they came back to Brawl, loved them in Brawl, then got mad when they weren't in Sm4sh. Lol, can't please everyone.
Nah, I don't truly 'hate'* anyone in Smash because it's such a fun game with a shitton of content and everyone (more or less) brings their own brand of flavor to the table. It's like a fun, crazy Thanksgiving dinner or family reunion and everyone's invited!
I'm not too crazy about Robin myself, but he's just kinda there for me. If I was in charge, I'd probably put Roy back in, give Lucina a unique moveset, and make Robin an Assist Trophy, but that's probably because I feel a little sorry for Roy. I think Ness/Lucas don't get picked on as much because they don't look so anime-ish. ...Or because the fanbase is fucking crazy. In the end, it's just personal preference; you got your weeaboos and anti-weeaboos, your furries and anti-furries, bronies and anti-bronies. Everyone has a side defined by what they do and don't like, so it can make things like this into a big clusterfuck.
Yes, the clone rage is still going on and Dark Pit takes it to a whole new level because he's literally the same person twice. And yes, I know he's different from Pit in terms of personality in 'Uprising', but that means nothing in Sm4sh. At least, that's my take on him.
*Gotta admit, I can't bring myself to like Dark Pit (or Dr. Mario), but whatever. It's perfectly normal to have at least a few fighters you don't like.Β

Glad to hear that. By the way, I forgot to say this - (spoilers!) Shulk quite literally was appointed to be a god once at the climax of his game, but rejected it in favor of staying a mortal and sending the world he lived on out of the pocket universe it existed in. But yeah, that kind of threw me off - when I found out about Blueblood, I thought "Wait, don't royal ponies have both wings and a horn?". Then again, I find I'm overusing unicorns more than anything - like, a lot of characters have magical powers of some sort, and even ones who don't seem to just fit with that particular breed (is that what they're called?) better. But I guess I'm reading too far into this just for a stupid commentary. :/ I'm not even a pegasister - I'm interested in the show, but I've only seen like two or three episodes. I've gotta say, I really liked what I saw!Β
Well, I guess I'm not normal then. I literally have disliked no one in Smash ever.
The clones were kind of an afterthought - all of the models were done, and when the team thought they had room for two more, they just went "You know those alternate Lucina and Dark Pit pallet swaps for Marth and Pit?" "Yeah?" "Throw them in!" Then again, it is sad when characters get cut. (or as they call it in Japan, "fired") I do have a fic idea called Free-4-All (seriously, Sm4sh should have been called that) based around the Smash 4 cast, and I actually plan to have Roy in it - I am pretty FE-biased after all. Besides, he seems interesting to write, and I want to have him transform into a dragon and freeze over some mooks. ^_^ Lucas was about to get the same treatment but you know, DLC happened; well, that's just sweet, because now Young Link has a shot in the fic too, and he also seems like a fun one to write with the two other versions of Link from different games.
...And I'm taking up too much words rambling about a stupid little topic. O_o Sorry if I'm wasting your time.

Oh, I forgot about that comment! Wow, Roy wasn't even confirmed then. Hi again! And which fic are you talking about? And trilogy? Is that what they call them now? Well, I like to compare the clone characters to extra sprinkles on an ice cream order. They don't take up much space, but are just there as a special extra. I also believe Sakurai compared them to free desert after a good meal. Complaining about it just makes someone look ignorant IMO.
Well, the next characters are entirely going to be based on the ballot, so we don't know. Did you main Wolf or something? And since Lucas and Roy are some of the biggest darkhorses in Smash history, it actually really makes sense. (Btw, I would personally draw Roy with dragon wings since it's possible, and most likely canon, for him to be 1/4 ice dragon . Hence why I mentioned him freezing things in my comment. Did you already draw Roy and Ryu?)
But going back to what I said earlier, from what I know about MLPFIM lore Shulk's case is probably like as if he were turned into an alicorn briefly, similarly to Twilight Sparkle (who he resembles in more than a few aspects), but then was returned back to his original form after making his wish.
