I do love cats, but this photo made me think of one of my circa 1960s cookbooks, but with the title: "101 Ways To Pickle A Dead Cat." I even had the very same Tupperware container with a 6-bean pickle recipe.
Or how about: "101 Ways To Jell-O A Dead Cat"?
Sorry... my sense of humor... no cats were harmed in the making of it... I love cats too much! Have had 18 todate in my long life.

Hey, just because I love cats, doesn't mean I can't have some laughs at their expense!! But I know where you are coming from - we have cat-loving friends that we have to tread carefully around for when it comes to cats, it appears they have lost their sense of humour. NO MAKING FUN OF CATS! I don't get that - sure, caring for animals is a serious matter, but that doesn't prevent us from having a blast of a time.

Yes, I know what you mean. There are some very sensitive people when concerning cats. No one in my family. But online. Though I can sympathize, since there are lots of places and people who do not treat cats very well at all and or have them on their cuisine and or list of commercial sales of cat fur. I try to be objective, I mean, I still eat beef and chicken and pork. And if I or my loved ones were starving, I probably could kill and eat a cat (not without a LOT of thought and emotional pangs). And cats eat other animals. And if a cat were big enough and hungry enough it'd make food of me, too. So I remind myself not to be hypocritical. And yet, I still prefer to live in my cuddly kitty, no one is harmed, dreamworld.

I get all that, I do. But people who can't see the fun also scare me! Like no insulting a cat, no cat is ugly, no picking up a cat and dancing with it in your arms, no laughing at a cat's expense, etc. We are laughing at our cats most of the time...hell, they make us laugh!

Yes, some of the deaths are peaceful and natural and I am comfortable thinking about those. But some are still painful even after all these years. But then, as I told a 14-year old who commented on one of my dev, the sad is part of the same story as the happy, the sweet, the joy of caring for these little people. If I erase away the sad memories associated with that one life, then I also erase all the happy memories. And I wouldn't want that.

True. I wouldn't give up the 16 years I had with my last one, Umber, despite having to be the one to make the choice to put her to sleep and then sit with her all the way through it, but not very strong of me, crying and crying. Poor Umber to always be the stronger one. But then I saved her from death (as a stray kitten that no one wanted), and gave her the best life I could. And she gave back friendship, devotion, tremendous funnies, and love. She was the best of all of them. But many were so dear.
