Description I made this picture at a time where I had hit rock bottom in life. One of my best friends had just committed suicide, I was stalked by a crazy person (to say the least), my father more or less lived in the street, I had trouble sleeping plus the company I was working for had financial problems. Add to that the job was both frustrating, tiresome and boring.

It all made me very introverted and I spent most of the time hiding in my appartement not wanting to speak to anyone. I hardly answered the phone or met any of my decreasing number of friends. Looking back in the mirror I guess it was to keep my façade that everything was fine plus that it lessened the chances of running into my stalker.
Anyway, a lot happened in my head and this picture was one of the things that came out at this dark time.

It's called "Still here" because I live in sweden and had an english friend that was very interested in the music I write. He was very worried that I would committ suicide and when I hadn't kept in touch with him because of my depression for a while I wrote short mail messages to him with the text "still here" in the body of the mail just to calm him down.

Wow I like this! It's emotional and dramatic and the story behind it really grounds the piece in reality. Well done.

Your story is very emotional, respect to you for writing it all down here to explain the art piece. It is very intense to look at, and feels like a fever nightmare trying to pull you in when I look at it, a little suffocating even. Even so, I still think the very intensity makes it beautiful in a way, or possibly it's the pull that gives it an alluring charm. I don't know where to look first, so I end up looking all over it. I guess when going with this idea it gives off a dangerous vibe, and I hope you managed to escape it.

Thank you for the kind words, it's always interesting to hear someone elses thoughts about images you've done.

Compared to back when I did it I'm much better. Thanks again!
