After Julie had cried herself dry of tears, she sighed deeply, and had her father Arnold take her to Spinda Cafe. Well, both of them were not very surprised to find that Vertigo was missing too, but in his place, was their Merchant friend Alex, tending to the bar alongside Hops, who was juggling for a couple canines.

"Hey Alex..." Julie said, putting her face in her hands, followed by a sigh.

"Oh hey, Julie. Fancy meeting you here, who's the Haunter? Not tryin' to be rude or anythin'..."

"That's my dad..."

"Wait a minute, wasn't Hank your-"

"Yes."

"And he vanishe-"

"Yes."

"Oh. Well, my feathery pal Dave left out of the blue as well, turns out everybody here lost somebody, but at least they seem to like me working here with Hops, you y'know, Hops is a real cool guy once you get to know him. Just started to help him out because Vertigo is missing too."

"I'm sure he is... Anyway... Could you spare a few berries? I feel like donating something to Maple and the others who are as upset as I am..."

"Oh sure, I have a few... Well, I have an Oran Berry right here... and before Hops notices, go ahead and take it and go while he's busy."

Alex carefully set the plump, juicy blue berry down in front of Julie, she took it and hid it in her cloak.

Arnold nodded at Alex, and they both got off of their chairs and left the cafe, like nothing happened.
