Description
And so they sent Aurora to the unknown forest, not knowing, what would happen to her and Crotalus. They had seen the young woman a lot during the next days and nights, still Melody and even Tibia where not trusting her. Yet, there was nothing they could do about it anymore. The two of them had decided to go to that forest. And they wouldn't stop them.

It was in the afternoon, when Aurora and Crotalus arrived at the place, which had been mentioned on the invitation. The young woman had dismounted, her long, red cloak hung heavily around her shoulders, making her feel the warmth underneath. But was it her, or did it suddenly feel cold around them? Colder than it had just a few moments before. Crotalus gave a silent snort, then he suddenly raised his head, staring into the forest.
„Up on my back!“, he hissed, his tongue shot out of his mouth, bringing the strangest smells back. „I want to go in there. I want to see what hides.“
Aurora drew a deep breath, then she nodded slowly. She was here to go into that forest. That wasn't a common event. But she had known that. She just hadn't known how uncommon it would be exactly. When he pulled herself into the saddle and collected the reins, the stallion shot forward, sniffing again, while his bright eyes scanned the survace of the forest. The deeper they got into it, the thicker got the fog. At first it only flooded around his hooves, mixed up with his feathers of desert sand. But the more time they spent in there, the higher it raised.
„I have no idea, what it is...“, he said silently, all without speaking, just in her mind. He tossed his head, then growled loudly into the darkness, that slowly crawled up around them. The night was his time, just as every Nightmare wasn't afraid of darkness. But they weren't alone. And that would always make him feel alarmed. „But it is close to us. And it knows, we're here...“
Aurora leaned slightly over his neck, looking around. Soon it would be too dark for her to see properly. She clinged to his mane with her right hand, holding the reins with her left.
„Do you regret coming here?“, Crotalus asked, as he felt the pressure of her weight on his shoulders. But Aurora shook her head.
„No.“, she answered. „I have seen enough darkness to not be scared. But something is wrong here, I'm just not sure, what it is yet.“

How long had they been into the forest yet?
It was dark, a soft glow came through the boles, while the stallion was slowly walking through the forest. It was foggy now, so that they couldn't see anything, but a flicker of a pair of bright eyes every now and then. This could also have been an illusion though. Aurora didn't know. Crotalus didn't comment on what she thought she had seen.
„I wonder, what they want of us...“, she said quietly under her breath, after she had brought him to a stop. Crotalus let his tongue shot out again, before he answered.
„I have no idea... But if they wanted us dead, we were already.“, he said. „Or at least they would have tried. So there's probably no need to be scared. Think calmly and keep close to my neck. We will see, whether we can find a way out of that forest. Or maybe we can find someone else. I doubt we're in here alone.“
Aurora nodded.
„Why have you come to the stable?“
Suddenly, the young woman sat up in the saddle, her eyes narrowed as she looked down on the neck and the big scar on it. She didn't answer, just as she hadn't answered to the staff before.
„You won't tell me, that's okay.“, the stallion said calmly, starting to walk again. „But you might have to some time. How could they trust you, if you don't tell them who you are?“
„They will know in time.“, she said, her voice slightly angry. „And then they might wish they wouldn't have asked.“
