Description I was devastated when I heard that Peter Steele had passed away. I’ve been a huge Type O Negative fan for more than 15 years, and really loved Peter’s songs and dark emotional voice. He was such a talented, cool, funny and awesome man. October Rust was probably my mid-90s soundtrack. Yesterday, after I got the news, I was listening to all the TON albums, feeling sad and actually crying a little bit.

I was lucky enough to catch them live a couple of times. This pic is from the last time I saw them (KB, Malmö, 2007). It was hard to get a shot of Peter, he was obviously not well and was sitting down most of the concert. Out of range. Out of focus. When I looked at the old pictures from that gig yesterday, it was like he was already fading away.

I will really miss you Peter. Thanks for all the great music!

Condolences to you I am so sorry.
This made me think I do not know what I would do if I lost my favorite singer, I have only one favorite for more than ten years I do not think I can give up on songs like Laila, I hate her, do you have any doubt,  was my friend.
He is unique because he sings the old classical Arabic poems (we have here the singer only needs  to be a melodist and have a beautiful voice sometimes just a has a beautiful voice and he/she had to collaborates with melodist, and he/she has to cooperate with the poets for their poems). But the songs these days are no longer good quality so I do not know what I'll do if he die?

The songs will always live on, but it is always sad when someone talented vanishes, especially when it's too soon. Peter Steele was only 48, and had a lot more to give. I keep my fingers crossed that your favorite stays with us and creates more wonderful music for a long time.

I really hope you will not lose another one never . and I thank you I hope that too but he will retire after a few years anyway he is just doing one last big melody  he will set to music Epic of Gilgamesh and will retire after this. ( Epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest story that was wrote by humans if you did not read it yet I advise you to read it if you allow me to advise).

Oh, I know about Gilgamesh. Haven't read all of it, but know about the basics of that story, and how it has inspired and influenced so many others, like the Noah's Ark story. I think the Sumerian culture is very interesting because it was the first real culture. Now I really must read it. Thank you for reminding me of it!
