Description
Lost Dutchman state park is one of my favorite locations to photograph. Spring happens to be one of my favorite times to photograph at this location. Unfortunately, there was a lack of wildflowers this year. I happened to find some teddy bear cholla that had a few blooms opened up and waited for the stars to come out to fill the empty skies. This was a blend of six images for depth of field. Hope you enjoy! I actually found out today that this image received an honorable mention in the 2014 International Land and Sky photo contest.Superstition Mountains- Arizona.

Stunning. How do you get such nice focus in the dark? Especially on stuff far away?

This one I took twilight exposures for the landscape using a small aperture allowing me to get better depth of field. In most cases, if you focus your lens to infinity, you can get similar results unless you are up close on your foreground like this and use a much larger aperture.

Hmm I wonder how do you get the full image so sharp? What f-number do you use and what is your focus point?

Five exposures were taken at f16 for DOF and then one at 2.8 for the stars. Focus blended the cactus together to get everything sharp as my lens was almost touching the needles.
