Description
Is this the better vistart? It looks nearly like the real thing, offers blur (you can see it at the icons behind it). Has aworking searchfunction, internetsearch appears when clicking on the searchbar,some skins available. Otherwise it is still Beta. You can download it here:[link]This is a screenshot of my virtual machine. I ever use this to try unknown software.

Damn it's a real shame this project was discontinued, this is probably the only normal and functional Vista start menu. The vistart doesn't allow dragging and dropping of any files and is mega limited to functions. This would of been a great success to finalize xp to vista transformation.

That's really XP? The startmenu looks identical to Vista's.
P.S. That's the smallest screen resolution I ever saw on a display o_O

This is XP MCE2005 SP3 with Vistamizer. The startmenu really looks like that, but is still in Beta. You need the NET Frameworks to use it.
About the resolution: I use this on a 42" plasmadisplay and it looks good, believe me.

42"? BHAHA! You have to be f*****g kidding me! Such a display would have a 1920x1080 (HD) resolution... and most old CRT TVs have a larger resolution than your desktop... lol

Of course my plasma TV has HD resolution. But i don`t use it, cause i like it this way. The TV is about 10 feet away from my seat, and so it is better readable. You just know, that the resolution can`t tell you how great thre display is?

Really! I can imagine how blurry or pixelated it is.
How about making screenshot of your desktop (@1920x1080) with this page opened in a browser? Would be more convincing.

You have never seen a good plasma in action. There is nothing blurry or pixelated. Such a display is meanwhile available for 1000-1500EUR and i think one day you can try it yourself. And one more thing:The screenshot is in 16:9. Never been available on old CRTs. Believe what you want and have a nice day.

For some reason I can't get vistart to work properly on my XP but VES7 works fine ... could do with a new beta though .. its been awhile since the last release looking at that forum link ...

VSE is written in crappy .NET, that's why it's slow and buggy.

On my virtual pc it works, and it is faster than vistart. Maybe previous versions were slower. But it is really buggy. Sometimes the menu is closed and the userpicture is still on the screen. It is still a beta. Maybe one day it works good, or it goes the way of vystal. Who knows.

Also VSE looks ugly, vistart has a nearly perfect vista skin

I also use vistart cause it is better. But i lke to try things i find on the net. It is just for fun.
