I like it fine without a background. Great lines and proportion. Excellent work!

Oooh, this is nice. I want that car. Black with gradating blue stripes with gold flames on the sides

It would be good with a background that wasn't too bold, something that would make more there, but not take the attention away from the car.

awesome drawing! great shading. i wouldn't add a background, although finding the right background might really set it off, it would be very hard to find the right background and the wrong one would ruin what is a great piece of art already

i thought about adding a street or sth... but i really fear that would ruin it =/ so... no background

Advanced Critique eh? Well, there isn't much I can't say other than that is damn awesome. I don't think you should put in a background, you've established the car in the space enough with the shadow alone. The wheels are awesome, that kind of motion is really hard to capture with pencil. How big is it?

Nice, I like it. Only problem I can see is the wheels look like they are moving, but the rest of the car looks kind of static. Needs something in the background to suggest movement. Anyway, cool drawing!

only criticism i can find is that te bonnet vents aren't all that visible, and the shading on them doesn't match.

Bonnet is a British term. It refers to what Americans call the hood - or, the lid to the compartment where the engine is (keeping in mind that some higher end sports cars have rear mounted engines). The British call the engine compartment lid the bonnet, while, what Americans call the trunk - or the storage space usually found in the rear of most standard cars, is called the hood, I think. Just an fyi...
