As SOON as I get my hands on the proper amount of cash, I'm buying one of these, hahaha. Frickin sweet drawing. How do you make everything symmetrical work so well? I've tried but one side is always off.. and I don't notice until I get to another part that accents that.. and it just doesn't match up..

this is so amazing. i did a couple of sketches of the GT (one of my favourite cars...wish i had one...wish i could drive!) but this...the accuracy is immense. the one thing that i had the most trouble with getting as best i could was the hood - where it intrudes. but you've managed to do it so well...
the least i can do is fave this...and have a sneaky tour round your gallery.

Like how you rendered such details as the grid and lights. A pity that you have half cropped it into photoshop.
..and yes, that car ruled and still rules. I like the 80's supercars design, and this is a must, just like De Tomaso Pantera.

Nice. Yeh, Ford does make nice cars....but I'm still blaming them for redesigning the Discovery....*cries*....I hate the new one....K, enough rambling. You should most def post more cars. Yours are awesome, and DA NEEDS MORE CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, i checked the gt40 out, and i can say it's quite impressive. 500 horses at 5000 something rpm with a 5.4 liter, 32 valve engine. and it's a V8. probably the best thing ford can ever pull. in comparison, their pathetic 2004 mustangs have a 3.8L V6, and delivers only 190 horses at about the same rpm as the GT40. yeah, i hate the mustang. it's even got a fake air intake on the hood. FAKE! isn't that crazy?

This is awesome! I have just started drawing cars, none of them I would say good enough to deserve a submition on DA. Any chance you could give me a few tips? pencil types? how keep everything in proportion? and WHEELS! wheels are just killing me, especially drawing spinning ones. Yours are really good. The shading accross the whole car looks perfect. Also, gotta love the Ford GT.

Ok, I'll try...
Pencil types, for this piece I used a HB2 and a mechanical pencil. If I had a darker pencil I would of used it as well.
Proportion is more of a try-and-see thing, but use a ruler if your really not sure(it is a technical drawing anyway).
Wheels are tough, just be patient with your shading and they'll turn out better than you expect.
Just do a lot of little sketches so you know the basic shape of a car. Once you know how a car should look, the rest is easy.
