Description And finally, proof that I occasionally finish garb.

An attempt at a late 14th century garb, of which I've done parts on and off for... years?

Blue wool overdress with embroidery for which I have no reference whatsoever - I'm quite sure it's very non-period, but I was bored? - unlined except for the fabric protecting the backside of the embroidery.

Blue fitted under-dress in wool/synthetic-something fabric, laced in the back and with sleeves buttoned from the elbow. Lined sleeves, because of buttons. The non-period trim around the neckline does not show so much here, yay for headdress.

Headdress in white linen, one square and one rectangular piece and fastened with pins. I bought proper pins in Visby last year, but put them Somewhere Safe and couldn't find them. Ideally, it takes five or six pins to fasten the thing (of which at least two always show). I used seven, I think, and found one of them in my hair when I came home.

I had. Apart from the tourists, I met a lot more people I knew than I expected. We were actually late when we left, because we met so many people to talk to on the way to the car...

I think I remember this But it's awesome that it's finished, I like the look! Before people started dressing like madmen ~
And the embroidery is adorable! Period. Or non-period. I don't know >_>

The pin story makes me laugh a little though - both so typical, and hilarious.

Yeah, it's the dress I started that night when you were vampire-larping

There's also the "Oh, you know you forgot some pins in your headdress, right?" "Eh, no, they are kind of keeping the thing in place, so I know they are there...."-issue.

Haha, yeah, my first and last vampire larp experience really, the best part of that night was my awesome hairdresser
