So I'm trying to start a Nuzlocke, and I got the notes totally down, but what software is the Nuzlocke created on? Photoshop, GIMP, Manga Art. etc? And do you use a drawing tablet and/or just free-hand drawing? These questions have been burning my face for like, -insert long time phrase here-

Err... I have some questions. Sorry if I bother you.
1- What brush do you use in Photoshop?
2- I'm interested in making a Nuzlocke comic. Should I do a fast begining or take it slowly?
3- Are you interested about the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series? .3.
also, how do you do the writing in speech bubbles and such

Great tutorial, particularly with the note taking. Personally, I can't read my short hand/handwriting, so I typically type my notes, which means normally playing at home. Still, these are quite the good pointers.

Wonderful tutorial, Petty. This is a great resource for someone like me who is trying to get into a nuzlocke but isn't sure how to translate it into a visual narrative. Thanks!

I would never have guessed an overlay helped so much. xD Gosh, everything's suddently warmer!
But, ohhhgosh, keeping notes is one of the most thorough things I've ever seen a nuzlocker do - that takes dedication. How many notebooks have you gone through?

I have a few questions, if that's ok.
First is do you use illustrator or Photoshop?
Second, do you scan in your rough and go from there?
If not, what size to you do for your comics as a starting size to edit and such?
And final, got any good places for brushes?

pettyartist In reply to DenkiWolf [2012-09-01 23:36:04 +0000 UTC]
1. Photoshop CS4.
2. Nope! I do my rough in photoshop based off my thumbnails-- my canvas size is usually 700 pixels wide by however long I need for the length of the comic.
3. I actually have a brush set I made right here on DA! [link]

Oh cool, thank you!
My biggest problem with digital is the size of the canvas.
It always gets me.
Haha, thanks for the help!
Great comic, by the way.

I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, and Photoshop for me might as well be the interface for a Klingon Bird of Prey - and yet, I still found this really informative and interesting! Thank you for taking the time to make this. ^_^
