If you don't mind me asking is cyclothemia related to nyctophobia? I'm nyctophobia/paranoid and an insomniac. By the way, I love this picture<3

Don't listen to the paranoia angels! they LIIIIE
...I really hope this doesn't turn into full-blown bipolar disorder at any point. And does the cyclothemia have any bearing on your stomach/anxiety issues, or is that separate?

Stunning piece. I hope you feel better soon, but I have to say I'm impressed at the bravery of expressing your worry on such a public forum. That's the kind of thing that's very easy to turn inward, and it just gets worse... (that monster looks very familiar to me.)

I had to comment because I'm suffering from Dysthymia (Which is, like Cyclothemia, a minor type of a better known mental disturbance - clinical depression, in this case) and once I drew a picture of the exact concept: The depression like a giant black worm, sucking the energy from me, only I drew myself as a child and had a sword in my hand - to defend myself against it. It was more of a hope, a different kind of therapy.
Don't try to search for it in my gallery as I don't have one, though. /:
Anyway, best wishes.

Just wiki'd it, and gotta say that it sucks. :\ When the episodes come up though, does doing this art work for you?
Try to keep happy when the episodes do come up though, and wish you the best of luck with them. (:> Kick the ass of that paranoid feeling. (:<

Really well done.
For those that don't know: Cyclothymic disorder is a mild form of bipolar disorder (manic depressive illness) in which a person has mood swings over a period of years that go from mild depression to euphoria and excitement.
As you can see, it very much comes to life in this picture.
There is a history of anxiety in my bloodline, so I can sort of kind of say I can relate. Anxiety and paranoia go hand in hand most times, and I know what manic depression feels like, so again, I can sort of kind of say I can relate.
If you were just diagnosed, that means you've been living with it for most of your life, I'm guessing, as symptoms are said to be shown earlier on. It takes a strong-willed person to power through life with such a deterrent. You should be EXTREMELY proud of yourself.
I know things may seem bleak, but just now that it doesn't stay this way forever. Just keep powering through, the same way you have been, and things will get better. It might take awhile, but just trust and believe in yourself; it will.
You're an amazing artist, and again, love what you've made here. Great work.
