Seriously though, you have a good talent of your own. You're 'Candyman' portrait is particularly good.
If you want more realism all I can say is practise. If you use a reference photo, and you draw it and color it exact to the photo, then It can't fail to look like what it's ment to be. You've probably heard it 100 times, but the more you draw the better you become. It's true. I'm still teaching myself new ways every time.

4 hours is a long time for me on a portrait. I normally take 2, maybe 3 hours at the most. I'm self taught so I follow my own way of drawing which tends to be pretty quick.

Yeah it took 4 hours. It actually took longer than most portraits I draw. An average portrait usually takes 2-3 hours at most.
All the grey in his beard, clothes, jack's fur, the background etc was all done using just one pencil.
