Science-Fantasy. And that's my favourite radio show! Wonderful poster. I'm sure they wouldn't mind using it for one of their Clockwork Balls

Hey, thanks for the lineart! I was wondering if that's why it was posted, but I didn't want to colorize it without your permission. It'll be good practice and I'll link the lineart to the finished product. It's manditoary and I do it all the time with Joseph B222's lineart.

Steampunk is both science fiction and science fantasy, though in all honesty it probably leans more toward science fantasy. That's my take on it.

The best stories blur sci-fi and fantasy together -- something I feel happens in Steampunk and clockpunk do quite a bit! (Have you seen [link] ?) So I'd say 'Speculative fiction', which is a better blanket term anyhow.
Generically, though, sci-fi usually covers alternate history.

Anyway: yay Clockwork Cabaret! They linked your artwork on twitter, which is how I found it. Excellent stuff! Like it very much

Yeah Sci-fantasy is a good one, airships were real so not sci-fi. Rayguns however...

HiddenRelevance [2009-10-10 23:20:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that is a toughy! I tend to go with sci-fi myself as it's dealing more with technological advancements than fantasty staples like magic or fae. Ish lol

And ooo I'm definitely going to have to check out that podcast.. it does sound like fun!

Dude.. I should totally be done! lol

BTW, if you ever need more steamystock, we've got a fair ton over at *HiddenYume-stock 4 models total, and I think like.. 6-7 different costumes/characters?

oooh, shiny! I shall certainly have a look through them I've had some trouble with some of the other stock artists so I tend to stick to just three or four these days.

Whootness! and really? What kind of trouble?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

phantoms-siren In reply to HiddenRelevance [2009-10-11 23:02:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the common one is pulling print permission without warning. In one case I got reported for using someones stock without permission when it was actual stock from a $6 free use book and dated from the last century.

HiddenRelevance In reply to phantoms-siren [2009-10-11 23:36:01 +0000 UTC]

Ahh yeah, see we offer DA print permission regardless, and other prints just on a case by case basis (mostly to keep the lazy manipers at bay)

And man that is bizarre.. how are you supposed to ask for permission on that? *shakes head*
