...kusuriuri... desu yo.Just watched the series over again... easily one of my top 3 favourite anime of all time. Mononoke (NOT the ghibli film). If you haven't watched it, it's a great series. Lots of ghosts. And of course... Kusuriuri-san.

Did this on the worst possible paper I think. i liked the texture... but it also made inking rather tedious.

You remember the episodes... 6 and 7? There's that part in episode 6 where the masked mononoke takes Kusuriuri-san's face and all he has instead is a mask? That's the mask that I drew here. 
The series is very awesome. I wish there was more than just the "Ayakashi" episodes available for sale... I'd buy the whole series.

Yes, Mononoke! I havenβt finished the series yet. I should probably get on that.
I like the backgrounds lines βthey remind me of wood, and make the picture seem like a woodcut or something. It could probably use a little cropping, though. Thereβs a lot of negative space. But itβs a beautiful picture: I love the motion and the flowy lines and the profile shot. You got the style really well.

Oh good! I go back and forth about whether I like this picture or not. I agree... lots of negative space. I think I'll do a little cropping at some point (i.e. when I'm not swamped with homework).

I thought the random lines on the background were a good idea until I looked at it finished. XD The random lines kind of made it look bad. Any suggestions? Overall... the piece doesn't look completely done to me for some reason.

I like the random lines, unless you want to make them look like air waves or something like that O_o.

Nope, I think it adds texture to the background without distracting too much from the figures. Then again that's me.
And I hear you on that. With traditional there's no undo button to immediately fix it.

Ok, cool. Do you think cropping the sides a little would help to improve the composition?
Yeah. I think it helps me to learn better since I can't just ignore my mistakes and undo them. Though, it is frustrating when I ruin pictures. XD

Maybe the sides a bit more, yeah, it'll tighten the focus, I think.
And I know! I did this awesome pencil sketch and it got ruined when my sister knocked Kool Aid all over it by accident. x.x;

the lines look a little funny, but it helps guide the eyes a bit too
