I've seen lots of furry boys acting cutely so I interpretted Ru as a boy. But the best thing about him is that because of his genderlessness, he has no restriction on what he's gonna be, what's his style of clothing, who he may kiss, how should he behave, etc. X3

they're whatever gender you want them to be, the artist has decided to let each person decide for themselves whether they think Ru is a boy or girl. I think that applies to Mako as well.Β

eh, i think it's kinda neat that the artist is letting both views be valid instead of giving a definite answer. personally i prefer to think of ru as a girl and mako as a boy and i like that no one is gonna contradict me on it
