Am I the only one who thinks of that Beckett play when I hear the name Godot?This is commissioned by
I made him before, so this time, I wanted to jazz him up a little more by giving him his coffee and hand-in-his-pocket-pose.
In case people are wondering about the materials I used:
body: bucksuede in bamboo colour
clothes: black bucksuede, teal suede-ish/shiny-ish random fabric I've had for ages, cream super-soft velour w/ sewn-in pinstripes
coffee mug: felt
hair: bought the material here: [link]
visor: woolen felt, craftfoam painted silver and gloss varnished, red acetate w/ white backing

What do you use to make your figures pose-able? Armature wire?

Ooo quick question, was it the Shag Fur that you used for the hair? (I get all my bear/animal plush furs from Sassy's too but haven't tried out that one before.)

Yes, it's shag fur. (before she didn't call it that and had it in the hair section, so I actually had to check back to make sure it was it!)
It's really nice stuff, and I'd totally recommend it.

Holy crap, the clothing detail and the visor are outstanding. And the hands, just...wow. Your plush only get better all the time, even when I think they're already perfect. o_o

You are not the only one o_O;; I was wondering the whole game how they might be trying to tie in the reference and we all had a long talk about the pronunciation since in the play it's goo-DOH, but my housemates were saying GO-doh. ; D My husband cosplayed as him at Sakura con! ^_^;; His visor actually employed painted craft foam too; ; ) Wow the visor and the vest stripes must have taken awhile x_x; I really like the sleeve garters and how the coffee cup fits on and off!

Beckett was Irish, so I'm guessing the pronunciation is different from how we'd think it's said. I never played the game; do they make references to the play at all?

Glad to hear it on the vest..! I think they did throw in a little joke about waiting for him at some point, but it's been awhile since I played it... nothing major though. The name is an assumed one, so I wasn't sure if they'd get into why he picked it-- never did, though since it was probably different in the Japanese version there was probably not stuff in the script to fit.
The games are really fun by the way-- sort of like interactive detective novels. Only silly. ; )
