Come morning.

When the sun begins to warm her.

It would be all too easy to hate forever and to turn off the soul completely, in order to become a wall of steel and loathing.

In order to become someone who could not get hurt. Someone who could bare the pain.

It would be too easy to give up.

Nephele was no such creature to lean into easy.

Touched by darkness, it festers within her in venomous pools.

She would not be a slave to herself.

Embrace the hurt. Embrace the betrayal and the grief.

But do not forget yourself.

They can all depend on one thing. That I will not turn my back on them.

I will be an honest wolf, and I will not whimper to those who wish to see cowardice.

Nephele will take a character turn from here:

She will no longer be hiding in her secluded areas, though she may still frequent them.

Nephele is extremely protective over her task and the skills that it takes to be a witch-doctor. Not just memory and herbology, but she considers mentality to be part of being a witch-doctor, she judges harshly her fellow doctors, always watching them with a sharp eye. She expects good judgment and the ability to be unbiased when it comes to the task.
She takes her job quite seriously, and despises anyone who tries to play with plants that are not well versed in them. She has a strong hatred for anyone new to the task of witch-doctor and will look at them sternly and disapprovingly.
Any newcomers to the task will be severely scrutinized by her, whether by sharp and watchful stares, or looming over them while they practice.

She has a deep seated need for control and openness, if only for herself.
Nephele spends her time now strolling throughout the pack, checking up on the state of other wolves, offering her services to them ranging from sitting and listening to tending to grievous ailments.
She will not turn a blind eye to things she finds suspicious but Nephele is not particularly nosey or loose lipped. She is quite pragmatic with the information she learns, but has a mind and attitude to put others in their place, chastising them if she thinks they may cause harm to anyone.

With this, I hope that Nephele will become someone who will serve her pack well, protecting their mentality over anything. And she will hold a candle to the sins of others.

She's not a righteous character, but I see her as someone who will now speak loudly when reason is nowhere to be found and diplomacy is lacking.
