Formed shortly after the creation of the NVA, The Prussian Defense Force was formed in 1957 and was dissolved in 1994. Unlike West Germany, the Prussian Defense Force would attempt to maintain as many of it's military traditions. Though external and internal pressure would end most of these. The one's that remained were restylized as according to denazification. Nonetheless, the distinct Prussian style remained.

Like East Germany, Prussia retained the overall style though the collar patches were changed and the pockets differed in design slightly. The shoulder board styling was changed. Combat boots replaced the distinct Jackboots. And American style gaiters appeared.
