Name: Shiro, Hamazaki

Occupation: 2nd year student at Iwatobi High School

Personality: Quiet, does not speak very much and keeps to herself, she will speak when she has to or when she is spoken to. Honest and blunt, on rare occasions she will speak her mind. How she feels depends on her expressions, whether they are dark or cheerful. Acts very mature for her age.
There will be times when her most dramatic inner thoughts tend to stir and speak. Depending on the situation, this will cause her to create outlandish, worst-case scenarios in her head. Often times she will believe them.
Smart, and a bit creative. With her intuitiveness, she often doodles what she is feeling or what she perceives people are like through her eyes.
Previously had a fear of water when she was at a very young age. Thanks to both of her brother's support, she was able to free herself from her phobia. However, there is still yet another fear she desires to be free from.
Hobbies: Shiro goes fishing by herself or with her brothers. There will be times when her older brother, Kaito will force her and sometimes Hanataro to go out at night to catch bigger fish. When she is not fishing she is help cleaning and/or renovating river banks or shorelines with her father's crew.
She swims almost every morning before starting her day. A routine she has been doing for four years in order to get over her phobia, and now she swims as a morning exercise. She swims laps for ten minutes switching from freestyle to breastworks, and swim about two-hundred to three-hundred meters. Finally, she ends off with holding her breath underwater, her longest time is over two minutes.

Family
Father: Musashi, Hamazaki - Shiro's father is a fisherman, he comes from a long line of fishermen that have been looking after the coastlines and rivers for generations. Like Shiro, he is blunt and speaks his mind with a grin on his face, but his aggressive demeanor tends to intimidate others, he can sometimes be stubborn. Beneath the rough exterior is a calm, kind and wise man.
Mother: Yumi, Hamasaki - Yumi was a noble and devoted woman, looking after three children in all on her own while the father was absent. Shiro's kindness and caring came from her. Yumi died in a accident when Shiro was a very young girl.

Siblings/Brother: Kaito (Kai), Hamazaki - Eldest brother to Shiro. Kaito is rebellious, laid back and shrewd, but he is very caring to his younger sister. When his father is around, he will travel with him out near the coast or to sea. When Kaito finds out that his father didn't catch enough fish for the day he will drag his brother, sometimes his sister, out in the middle of the night to catch bigger fish.
He tends to tease his younger sister, saying she acts more like a boy than a girl. When it comes to physical contact though, Shiro can and will dominate him.
Kaito and Hanataro were on a swim team together when they were younger, it was thanks to their experience that helped their sister get over her fears by teaching her to swim. He also does scuba-diving on occasion. He attends college and studies biology in both marine animals and humans. He wants to be a marine biologist.
Siblings/Brother: Hanataro (Hana, Taro), Hamasaki - Second eldest to Shiro. Hanataro is much more kind and caring, like his mother. He is often forced to join his brother, along with Shiro, whenever Kaito wants to help his father with fishing. Hana cleans and cooks and keeps order in the household, as well as making sure Shiro's and Kaito's arguments and teasing don't get out of hand. However, Hanataro will occasionally argue with Kaito over his bad habits and his procrastination.
Hanataro loves math. Probability and formulas are his strong fort, so he claims. Whenever the weather is on he spends his time calculating numbers to prove the weather's accuracy. About 70% of the time he is wrong. He dreams of predicting the perfect storm.
Hanataro and Kaito were on a swim team together when they were young, him being faster in breastworks then his older brother. Both Kaito and Hanataro are on a swim team again, but he is less competitive than before, focusing more on his own studies. He attends college with his brother and studies math and meteorology.

Backstory

Childhood (newborn - age 12): Shiro was born in Japan. Her home is a large house, close to the beach. She enjoys going into the water everyday with her brothers.
When her mother passed away, Shiro became depressed. She was able to break from her depression with the help of her brothers. Kaito and Hanataro helped her swim again and helped overcome her water phobia. Then her brothers convince her to join a swim club at school. Shiro starts getting along well with the majority of children there. However, it backfires when she is bullied by other classmates, mostly girls.
The bullying worsens till she can no longer go to school and decides to remain home.

Describe their teenage years (16): After being home schooled for 4 years, her father finally convinces her to enroll in Iwatobi high school as a 2nd year student. Reluctant, Shiro goes to school to please her father and her brothers. On her first day she meets her first mutual friend, Gou, who they both share in common; boy names. All goes well when they bump into Nagisa.
It is revealed that Gou and Nagisa are part of the swim club. When Gou mentions to Nagisa that Shiro can swim, he immediately asks her to join. Shiro declines right away, but Nagisa keeps persisting. Gou tries to convince her that her and the club are in trouble and they needed another swimmer for help. With no other choice she agrees, but under the condition that she will not join the club.
