In fact, I made a of Robin inspired by this one. Only, I drew him with Black Canary.

In my mind, even this Batman will eventually become the one we see in the DCEU. A dead Robin and a crippled Batgirl will drive any Batman into a darker place.

I can understand that...
Though in my head, I had Batman become even more protective of his newest two proteges, Tim Drake/Robin III and Stephanie Brown/Spoiler. Basically after Barbara was crippled and later losing Jason, when the two came in, he was a tad more protective and likely puts a lot of rules for the two. ANd of course, the reason why they joined? IS because Batman was going down a darker route and he needed someone to help make sure he doesn't go where his friends can't follow.
And alos...I am also having it that, after JAson's death, Superman and some of the other future Justice League members (like the DCAU, Tim was Robin by th etime the League was made 
..yeah, I am still peeved that I haven't seen a lot of comics where his friends helped him through a hard time ;;

I like to imagine the days when Dick Grayson was Robin, Bruce was actually having fun being Batman. It wouldn't be until Jason's death that Batman would implement the no-fun/super-serious-at-all-times rule.

Agreed! It should always be considered that Dick Grayson was perhaps the only person in twnty years who actually made Bruce Wayne SMILE! If that's not a testament to the kids abilities, nothing is!
Not that he didn't smile sometimes with all his Robin's, but without Dick starting it all off, that would never have happened.
