Description Today my little tomcat "Aron" got run over by a car and died. Thats why I dedicate this artwork to him. He is included in the picture and I am sure he would have loved a fancy sorrounding like this, with all those futuristic "toys". Maybe its a little odd to dedicate a sci-fi artwork to a little tomcat but to me its the best way possible since it is the only kind of art I am halfway good at and the one I really love and I am pasisonate about. Rest in Peace Aron.
______

to the picture: Its a spacestation build into an asteroid orbiting a close up Planet (most likely not possible to build but I love the idea of it). A man and his cat standing at the edge with a fantastic view of the nebulae and watching the the starting and landing ships. What is he waiting for? His next mission? Someone arriving at the station? Just thinking about something? ... get creative

I feel like I have improved and learned a lot especially in texturing the 3D environment (I know it still isnt that great) but also in creating a better looking Planet with correct shadowing of the clouds. It is probably the most complex Artwork I created up to date, since all the 3D stuff has been rendered at once in one set (idk how to call it). I first created the 3D stuff, then created the Nebula and the Planet around it in 2D, went back fit in the Nebula into the 3D scene and rendered the 3D stuff again with all the reflections, then I put everything together in one picture again and added more details. Sorry if its hard to follow, I am not good at explaining stuff. The original size is 4500 x 2000 px (without the black bars)

2 Artworks inspired me to make an Artwork with a perspektive from the inside of the spacestation. Unfortunately I only can remember the name of one of them: [link] from xkire (EricShoemaker) i'll link to the other one as soon as I find it again!

as allways I used a satellite photo from NASA and a cloudmap (both from this side [link] ) as well as some textures for the 3D environment from this site: [link] everything I used is free for commercial use according to their image policy.
... The rest is completely done by myself. (I used Cinema4D, Apophysis and Photoshop to create the final image)

Please note, that you are free to use it as a wallpaper (pm me for a bigger version that fits your desktop) or any noneprofit use only. You are not allowed to alter, customize, trace, or in any way modify this image without direct permission from me.

Tell me what you think!

Also, if you have any critiques please let me know! I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Have a nice day

That's so sad, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's really sweet you dedicated this to your cat. If I was artistic I'd do something similar for my cat when she passes. Totally watching you now, I love you work!

I think it's great that you can dedicate such a wonderful image to your cat. I lost mine two weeks ago to antifreeze poisoning. At least his brother's still alive though they are- were- only three or so; first pets that were my own. I never knew I was a cat person until I adopted them, and my dad hated cats until the three of us moved in with him. I guess they really do claw, purr and headbutt their little ways into your heart.

I am sorry for your loss :/ yeah we also have a second cat and she is pretty lonely now, even though we try to spend as much time with her as we can noone can bring back her little brother she used to play with. And yeah you're right they allways find away to get your love and attention

They were brothers in my case, but my other one seems to be adapting. Though I feel terrible saying it I'm glad0- if you can call it that- he's the one who survived. I don't know that his brother could've handled his loss as well because he was always more distant from us and high-strung.

A great tribute. Sorry for your loss. It certainly shows the endless possibilities of what is to follow and there couldn't be a more fitting way of remembering a dear friend. Human or animal alike.

Thanks man! I really appreciate your kind words! And your right, he wasnt part of the family for long, but now that he is gone he leaves an empty space ...

I feel you, my friend. I have three cats and they have been part of my family for a decade. I am a writer so I immortalize them in writing all the time. 'Heisenberg's Cats,' 'Cats vs Evil' and the 'When the Sun Touches the Earth' are my stories about my cats. They get under your skin. There is no harm in feeling the loss. I know I will be a mess when my cats pass. I am so spoiling them for their tenth birthdays...

just read Heisenberg's Cats ... I gotta say its a very interesting theory and very nice to read! I love the Idea of cats not being bound to time and space! Couldnt find the other two stories about your cats tho. Surely the day will come were your cats will pass away but till then you can enjoy your time with them and try to make their lives as lifeworthy as possibly. So afterwards you wont need to regret anything and you can get over your loss knowing that they had a beautifull life and an awesome home, they spent their time in.
