Description Many physicians in ancient times believed that ball sports were the most beneficials because they allowed all parts of the body to be worked without the risk of serious trauma.

There were several ball games at the time, the rules of which are not well known to us. However, it is believed that one of them, the harpastum (whose etymology would mean "to snatch") would be the ancestor of rugby.

It is therefore not surprising that this type of game was on the training program for gladiatrix. Especially since it allows them to build both their physique and their fighting spirit at the same time.

(Note that the real harpastum balls must have been smaller. I just wanted to make a nod to the news)
