Well... this ended up different from what I'd intended. I was going to put a ghostly male figure in the background - but I sort of liked this maudlin scene as it was. (How tacky is the rose? Well, appropriate props were an issue here... ) Sorry, I don't blog, so I guess I get to vent visually - ha ha!

This now song means something to me as my stoopid dumb-arse ex says it reminds him of us/me, and now every time I hear the freakin' thing on the radio (and it's getting a lot of air play now,) I think the same. Urgh, the power of suggestion.

Should you choose to listen - I suggest removal of sharp implements, ( and dumb-arse exes for that matter,) from the close vicinity. You can view the full misery inducing lyrics here:

James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer but when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bear my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

They are great - if you aren't in a miserable mood; otherwise it's 'remove all sharp objects'!

Thanks Fredy, I like doing the odd scene like this; it's sort of like vitual inetrior design.

Ah, she's beautiful. TOO beautiful to leave behind.
Thinking about it, i'm afraid to think what separated the couple: his fate (shivers), her strange habits at night (double shivers!)

Women - strange habits at night? Lol! In my experience we are the innocent party - men always nick most of the duvet!

Thank you - it is a heavy song. I think the image is quite cheerful compared to what it could have been!

*nods* It kidn've makes it seem like it should be playing in the backround when you look at the image.
Great, at any rate.

Thanks Ryan. I think if I could have found a less cheesy flower it would have assuaged my sense of tackiness more - but what the hell! Thanks hun.

That's a lovely scene. I love the details... and the sunlight, too

I absolutely can't stand James Blunt, though. I dunno why...

Thanks Jo. Yeah - I know what you mean, he's on a par with Damian Rice for me - best kept away and labeled 'don not use unless on prozac.' I had the chance to see him at Glastonbury last year, but opted (wisely) to see Chas and Dave I believe it was) instead!

As ever Nikki, it’s your attention to detail that makes this piece awesome [oh no, Traci Bingham alert, I’ve used the β€˜A’ word and untowardly revealed my deepest, darkest secret.. that I watched {So Called} Celebrity Big Brother].

It is the exquisite detailing in the fabric of the bedcover [having one foot below the throw is a wonderful touch], the bedstead, the matching patterns on the bedside tables, the shadow of the little urn [sans short fat hairy legs] … that really make this piece.

I guess I must be a soppy-git, as I like the inclusion of the rose and the streaking mascara. As a counterbalance to the maudlin and mawkish nature of the piece, you might consider adding an upturned bottle of pills on one of the bedside tables to make the image a little more macabre.

Just one question is the detailing, at the top of the right thigh and left hip, accidental or deliberate?

PS There is nothing like a visit to a sweet shop… in the event of a relationship break up. The sweets might not make you feel any better but they sure give you the hyper-energy necessary for exacting a terrible revenge.

He he - tsk tsk - you watched Celeb BB? I did a couple of time - but mostly because my friend is a fan. Quite the coup that the non-celeb won! (Even though she was as dim as Jade - but without ballsyness ( that a word? is now!) of her previous counterpart!)

I'm glad you enjoyed the picture - I don't usually do tableaux but it's a good experience to build scenes up like this now and then. The lighting on her thigh was a complete surprise. It didn't show in my draft renders but appeared in the final and I was delighted. I like the idea of the pills, (sick puppy!) I also left her pose a little stiff looking to suggest that she may be in deep misery - or just plain dead. The rose is beginning to work for me - and it does add some needed colour to that area.

So maybe I should get hopped up on sugar and start sending the old bugger some dubious stuffed toy porn subscriptions in his name...
