My entry for an art contest on the Zelda Universe forums. The subject is "______ The Animated Series/Movie", so you have to portray something to look like an animated movie. So I tried to make Metroid look like an Anime, complete with subtitles!Edit 1: Added a faint outer glow to Samus.

I'm actually surprised that Nintendo hasn't done any kind of animations based off of their properties. Most of their franchise are insanely popular, so it would be good profit!

I think Jennifer Hale (Bastilla from KOTOR and Female Shepard from Mass Effect) was actually the voice actress behind Samus in Metroid Prime.
She could certainly pull off a character as badass as Samus.

Out of interest, how did you capture the anime-esque atmosphere so well?
Trying to create a fake anime screenshot so you're the first person i thought of for advice.
Got time for a brief tutorial/generally what kinds of things you did?

I did the lineart in illustrator, to ensure that was very clean and crisp, and colored it using the pen tool in photoshop. As for color choices, it really depends. Whatever you're working on, I'd look up screencaps to an anime that's similar to what you're working on. For this, I referenced sci-fi animes like Ghost in the Shell and Bubblegum Crisis.

Yeah, it would! I made it obscured on purpose, sine the first game's dark atmosphere is one of my favorite aspects.
