"Leave my Kingdom."
The exact thought I had in mind for Noctis's expression was more like "Get the @!&# out of my kingdom." But that isn't exactly a very princely thing to say...
I know there are obvious things I could improve (like the soldier), but this isn't meant to be perfect. It's a first time try of a more realistic, less anime looking style. Considering that I didn't use any tutorials, I'm relatively pleased with the outcome.
Anyway, some explanations about the drawing:
1) Other weapons are visible in the blue circles of energy behind Noctis, reflecting the large selection he has at his disposal.
2) The sword he is about to catch in his hand is taken from official CG art of the character.
3) There is a sword materialising behind the soldier with runes on it. Noctis has the ability to command and use weapons without physically holding them. The runes represent his order to the sword; the blade has the soldier's death 'written' onto it.
4) The blue and yellow balls of light are weapons that have yet to form.
5) The soldier is the last surviving of an army of intruders and has been disarmed of his gun. Finding himself overwhelmed by blinding crystal energy and lots of sharp weapons, as well as Noctis standing over him with a sword ready to strike, he surrenders and pleads for his life.
Noctis probably has to deal with invading forces trying to steal his kingdom's crystal on a regular basis. I wanted to capture a 'bored-on-the-verge-of-really-pissed off' expression on his face, as he ponders whether or not to let the soldier live.
Because this is different to my usual work and a first step toward a different style of drawing, any constructive comments would be appreciated.
My previous two anime-style versions of this character have been moved to Scraps. They were only trials; I consider this to be my first proper drawing of Noctis.

Finally I have the opportunity to comment ...
I think everything seems very nice, even the soldier at some point. There are only two things that appear weird : the hand and the face are too long, in my opinion. However, you could say that it is still good that they were kept in proportions with one another.
After seeing your latest drawings, I really look forward to seeing many others of the same style. The attention to detail is great, and there is an interesting play with the lights/lighting/whatever it is called already. And to think that you draw this with a mouse ...

Maybe the face appearing too long has something to do with the positioning of the collar of his jacket. It just about covers the definition of his chin.

Drawing such a detailed style by mouse is actually very exasperating. Using a tablet would make my life much easier. But it would also be less challenging and considerably reduce my sense of personal accomplishment, which is really the only reason why I haven't made the switch. But perhaps I should try drawing a one-off piece by tablet. I'm curious to see if my work would turn out much different.

I considered that aspect, but there still appears to be something wrong about the face's length in my eyes. Hm, would you not say something about that ...
Which is why I take days to compose myself before and after.
I had no doubt about what you explained in the first three sentences of this third paragraph. As for actually trying a tablet, make sure you do not become addicted or something ... At this point though, I cannot imagine there being a difference well.

It looks fine to me. Then again, it's a first try and I don't usually draw faces looking like that. Is it just the jaw line that looks wrong to you, then?
You must have good health insurance.
Have you used a tablet before? I'm only going to try it because someone I know happens to own one already. I'm not going to go buy one or anything. The humble mouse is safe - for now. But maybe there could be a noticeable difference, if you consider the increase in drawing control and accuracy, and the general freedom a tablet offers. We shall see.

I'm having a terribly hard time processing that this is your first try drawing & colouring this way. Good grief! o__________O Photoshop + mouse & no tutorials at all? FLIP. This almost suggests that you're a student at some art school who's taken drawing lessons & I know you're not & haven't ever been! You dropped art back in like year 8 didn't you? XDDD That just makes this that much bigger an achievement for you. I'm well proud XDDD GO YOU!!! <3
Now that I've praised your wonderous skillz let's get down to the drooling. HE IS SUCH A HOTTIE!!! YOU'VE DRAWN HIM SO GORGEOUSLY!!! His face is really well done! He looked good in anime style but he just looks a trillion times even moar epic & sexeh here XDDD I love the way you've done his hair! It must've taken you ages putting in that many hair strands, details & colours. The colours are so vibrant & pretty. I love the background! The blue circle looks really cool & so do the weapons you've included. I'm also liking the way you've done his clothes. So much detail! < 3 AND HIS EYES. WOW. So expressive!!

You've really pin-pointed the bored, peeved look. He looks v. princely & aristocratic here. He's almost looking down at the poor soldier disdainfully XD; The terrified soldier's done well but tbh, my eye went straight to Noct & sorta stayed there LOL. I hardly even noticed the other guy XDDD but there's a real sense of helplessness which you've enhanced with the sword swooshing behind him. He's basically dead, except not coz you've chosen to make Noctis merciful XD YAY! Great quality for a future outrageously hawt king <3 <3
O_____________O BTW I'm at a complete loss as to WHY this doesn't have more faves & any comments. I know I've ranted about this before but look at the number of times this's been viewed. Only 3 faves & zero comments so far? THE HELL is up with that & your watchers in general?!!! I've searched this site for Noct pics (yeah I'm obsessed XDD) & less impressive pieces have gotten more recognition than this. It doesn't make any seeeeeeense to meee X__________x

You've generally got the right idea about his expression. It shows the exact moment when he's deciding whether or not to slaughter the soldier.
I must admit, I'm also somewhat surprised that this only has two comments. That's less than almost all of my other past inferior works. Then again, you're probably right about the posting more around here issue. The thing is though, I don't upload art on this site because I expect/want to get loads of feedback/recognition. I just upload it because I feel like it. Drawing is only a hobby for me. If I happen to get feedback from strangers who kindly take the time to give it, then I appreciate that. But if I don't, it doesn't matter. I already get feedback from people offline way before I post the finished work up here. So don't go getting all annoyed on my behalf or anything. You should know that such trivial things do not bother me.
If this has inspired you in any way, then go ahead and write. Give me the link so I can read it, whenever you're done.
I wouldn't say this was a harder piece to draw than the usual. It was just more challenging and time consuming because it was drawn differently and without lineart. The worst part was probably creating the background.
I will still be drawing in anime style. I'll only use this more realistic one if it better suits what I have in mind. If I draw something from an anime or manga series, it'll be done in anime style. I could always combine the two, though.
Yes, I will be drawing Noctis again in future. Don't get too excited, now...
By the way, get an icon already. I don't offer twice. So what are you waiting for?

Well yeh but still this should have waaaay more comments than just mine and one other person. Oh wellz : \ I'm gonna link this in my story once I'm done writing the oneshot and demand my readers give their opinions XDD hopefully that'll raise awareness of this thoroughly gorgeous piece! 
The background is pretty epic I'd imagine it must've been pretty tricky to do o_______O geez you must've been ready to kill the poor mouse at times loool I can't imagine how annoying it must be, when I try writing coherently with a mouse on msn I want to kill the freaking thing when it squiggles untidily all over the place so I don't know how anyone could actually draw with it! Lol that's just crazy!!
