Fan art for and 's contest !Little dustdevil Sawyer annoying Colfax. Because we all know that if he had the powers his family book claims he does, he would very much do this.

Yes, I am rather proud of his face. I did discover a bit late that colored pencils are really bad at layering/mixing, however, and nearly ruined his eyes...

Colfax, meanwhile, is trying to do science or magic or something, and had begun to contemplate the virtues of a tornado in a bottle. Or a jar, or that fishtank. Somewhere away fron the important studies.

Maybe Colfax should just try to lock him out of the house... close all the doors and windows and block off the chimney if he has one. The air may get muggy and stale, but at least Sawyer has to find someone elseΒ to annoy.

I get the feeling that Colfax would just science Sawyer because A. Sawyer's being annoyingΒ again, or B.Β he's bored and doesn't want to work on actual paper.
And then he writes up all the Sawyer Science, but doesn't turn it in to anyone, just holds onto it to show people like Adrian, Charlie, and Sawyer's family.

The only way to get him to do it right... is to have Colfax hold on to the treat, and only give it to him if he gets to the end without breaking anything.

Bonus: the lineart was almost entirely drawn with a tiny piece of pencil lead. Just like Adrian's pictures in the sequel, except for a different reason.
