Description From the Starfleet Historical Archive. Submitted by Admiral Michael Wiley to President Amidala Necheyev-D'Souza-August 5,2493.

  Dear Madame President,

I certainly hope that this correspondence finds you well. I understand you've been under a lot of strain lately after the Neo-Sith incident. However I write with sorely needed good news that I believe we are all in need of nowadays.

I am pleased to report that the first stage of the shakedown cruise of PCU Enterprise(Polaris- class) has been completed to my satisfaction. While there are still many tests left to run,I can report with confidence that, now that the most difficult hurdles has been overcome, the ship will indeed be ready for the commissioning date of April 5,2494 that you have set for us.

As you may have inferred by now, both ship and crew have performed exceptionally well, with only minor flaws that can easily be straightened out well before next year. And in accordance with your directives, the Enterprise will be fully armed and equipped when she launches from drydock. Although many in my office felt this directive to be somewhat silly,I wholeheartedly agree with you that fate has generally put previous Starships Enterprise  to work almost as soon as the Name is painted on the hull.

Enclosed is the complete report on the performance of PCU Enterprise, as well as a holojpeg taken by shuttle pilot Erika Sandoval, assigned to my flagship, U.S.S. Challenger(pictured, background) I believe you'll be pleased with the end results. I can only imagine how Captain Nyria will react about her new ship.

Further reports will be submitted to you and the Federation Exploratory and Defense Subcouncil as they become available.

Yours truly,
Admiral Michael Wiley
Commanding Officer,Advanced Starship Design Bureau
