Description Crocoal (basic stage) - Feucrota (stage one)

Burungin's Phoenixdex Entry

While nowhere near as brutally awful as the original Feucrota art, Burungin's original picture was really starting to show its age. I also recently decided to change its typing from pure Fire to Fire/Dark and mess with its stats a little bit, so I tweaked the design some. I'm really pleased with the way it came out, if I do say so myself. Newrungin is even managing to give Osgrave a run for its money as my favorite NL starter (which I guess is as it should be because I always pick the fire starter first anyway).

Aaaanyway. As said above, dude here is the final stage New Logoran fire starter. Burungin are very mysterious PokΓ©mon that always seem to be wearing masks; no one is sure why, nor do they know what its face looks like beneath the mask, but some do speculate that it's the source of their bizarre fire-controlling abilities. They can bend and manipulate flames as if they were spellcasters, and when they cloak their bodies in these ever-changing flames it almost appears as though they can shapeshift. Ancient people revered and feared them as mighty fire spirits.

I had fun with this. It's based on various African legends of "werehyenas", which are awesome and yet no one ever pays attention to them. That's even where the name comes from: burn and the Bornu word bultungin, which means "I change myself into a hyena". Gwaharhar.

PokΓ©mon is Nintendo's, Burungin is mine.

We should start stating this in our Fakemon entries:

"I (your name/alias here) give GameFreak and Nintendo the right to use (fakemon name here) and its evolutionary line in any future game they plan on releasing, as long as they recognize my work and give credit to my name (and if possible or wanted, a commision). They should also stay as loyal as they can to the original name and design (to avoid copyright infringement with other companies) , stats (if they have), abilitie(s), and PokeDex entry."

I think that if GameFreak and Nintendo were to see this statement in Fakemon, they might consider adding them to their games. Then MAYBE we could get us some sweet new Pokemon non-stop .
Just a suggestion though. I know I am going to do this everytime I upload a Fakemon.

By the way, nice Fakemon phoenixsong. Keep it up (Y)!

I get the dark because ... ya know... the hyena thing.. but damn I'd be half tempted to see that as a fire/psychic based on that description.. (Take Mystical flame! Screw you Delphox!)

Hyenas are long over do for an appearance.

Much better than the original! I guess the mask alludes to the Bornu people's animal rituals, in which they wear hyena masks

Thank you! And yeah, it sort of does. More a reference to African masquerade traditions in general, really, but there is some of that in there, too.

Crunch/Beat up

Flareblitz
Ovver Heat (lowers special attack so heat can then use others moves with no stat lower)
