Torranel's Phoenixdex Entry

Hey, look, I'm finally getting around to uploading more fakemon that aren't contest-related! Whoo!

Just finished coloring this about half an hour ago, but the lineart has been sitting on my computer for months. Bah.

Anyway, Torranel here is a spinosaur-like Pokémon that roams one of New Logora's islands (no, it is not a fossil; it'll probably just be a really rare wild encounter, like Tropius or something). Torranel turn their sails to the sun and gather its light in the mornings, converting it into bundles of energy and fire-power; they become really aggressive and difficult to predict or control when it's super-sunny out. Fun Pokémon for a Sunny Day team, in other words, especially with their ability choices: Solar Power and Solar Boost. (Solar Boost is identical to Chlorophyll, by the way; the ability's effect is perfect for Torranel, but obviously it isn't a plant and should not have any chlorophyll, making it rather nonsensical. So I just changed the name to something more generic and kept the effect, similar to abilities like White Smoke/Clear Body or Battle Armor/Shell Armor.) Big, scary, Dragon-type (and therefore Water-neutral!) sunnybeamer with boss special attack, mwahaha.

Oh, and I dig Torry's color scheme, too. Originally I was picturing it being sort of greenish, but I really like how this turned out. :3

Pokémon is Nintendo/Game Freak's, Torranel is mine so no sticky paws, kthx.
