Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park at 6:30 in the morning, September 16, 2012. I was starting a long hike up to the base of Tyndall glacier and got this shot along the way. You can probably tell it is HDR-- 4 shots, I believe. The park is so pretty early in the morning and you're all alone. Peaceful. Well worth getting up extra early!

What a spectacular shot! It almost looks a bit like a painting around the trees, but looking straight ahead at the lake and sun rising, I can see how it's real. I imagine that hike was extremely worth it for something that beautiful.

I completely agree. I partially love the photo just because it refreshes the memory of being there to see it with my own eyes. These photos motivate me to keep exploring!

Memories are another reason photos are so magical. It's a visual reminder of something you've seen or done in the past. But being there in person is even better, I imagine.
