Description
Tetraopes tetrophthalmus, commonly known as the Red-milkweed beetle, is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae, found in northeastern North America. It is a brightly colored, finely pubescent insect that lives in fields, often on a leaf of milkweed or a surrounding plant. It can reach 8 to 15 mm in length. The adult can stridulate, a sound somewhat similar to a wooden stick being rubbed on a comb.
