Ok, good one man!
I really appreciate looking at full-res versions (just a few have the "courage" to make them downloadable); in your case, I could just suggest some denoise, at least of the background.

I agree that it is quite noisy...the problem with shooting at such a high ISO. The thing is, I try to edit my photos as little as possible. If I were to try to get this thing published somewhere I would probably do it, but here I try to keep it pure and simple! I am glad that you looked at it full-res...it is the point of it being there...

I just note that processing is needed when there isn't the possibility of working with good tools... such as the ones that allow to use low ISO, for example!
However, I appreciate the ones who, like me, want to be crtiqued on the FULL image.

I couldn't agree with you more about the full images. And I love being critiqued and appreciate everyone's thoughts about my photos. Now as for the tools, I guess it is a matter of what you want in a photo. I personally don't like to use a flash of any kind. I kind of look at it as cheating in wildlife photography (during the day at least). I know that you can achieve much better photos this way, but at what cost? And there is no way that I could lower the aperture as I was shooting at 1:1 and I needed some depth of field. That being said, if there is a way to achieve better results please let me know. I am still learning and any and all information is welcome and needed!!!

Well i say the same, if you have a great lens and a good sensor, you're ok, no problems with DoF and ISO; otherwise, comes the dilemma: "To process, or not to process..."

Please can you tell me your secret.... How do you manage to take all these beautiful pictures, without a tri pod? My hand shakes too much

My secret is not much of a secret. A lot of it is shear luck and determination. I do try to stack the odds more in my favor by shooting at a higher ISO. I also normally set the speed to 1/250 so that I don't have any shake. It may not be the proper method, but it seems to work for me. oh, I also take a lot of pictures, when I am shooting macro hand held, there are a lot of misses, but realistically, I only need one good shot.
And I will tell you, my hand does shake after a while. Most of these are shot with a 180mm macro...this is a heavy big lens, but I love it!
