Good lord, these are gorgeous. I would be surprised if they weren't, though. Beautiful work, similar praise as from years ago etc etc.

I'm a few ahead of that one now. There's a lot of hit & miss throughout that book.

Best was the Qui-Gon one, the Jawa hologram show, and Boba Fett on Tatooine

Hmmm... I'm not recalling the Boba Fett one. The other 2 though... erf. I'm never all that keen on stories about Force apparitions and stuff unless they really have some sort of understanding of such things.

The Will Weaton story was short but tragic. The Bail & Breha Organa story was good. Pable Hildago's Tarkin one was too. It even had dialogue from the old radio drama.

But Qui-Gon talked to Ben Kenobi! THAT WAS AWESOME!

The Fett story was about Boba Fett searching for the droids on Tatooine, until getting a call from Jabba the Hutt. He joined him at docking bay 94 to handle Solo

I just remembered the Fett story after I hit submit. it was okay.

Oh... I'm not digging how they're making Obi-Wan all... not-as-wise. They do that in a later story too. Obi just seemed too ... unsure in that story with Qui-Gon... I just have a different idea of the afterlife so, when people write stories about it, it's just one of those things where I kinda just hafta go " oh well ".

Well to Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon was always the man of wisdom. He's heard it his whole life as his padawan

Ben is considered the wise mentor from Luke's perspective. Obi-Wan himself never saw that. And he always blamed himself for how Anakin turned

Yeah. I just kinda think they may have made him too hard on himself in these stories.

Well think about it. He trained the man responsible for mass genocide

I know. I know. But it's also possible to find a way to make peace with that. But, I know Ben still feels pain over such things or he wouldn't have responded as he did over Alderran.

Is he the one Tarkin had a crush on?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phraggle In reply to SpaceLordByron [2018-02-12 23:29:32 +0000 UTC]

I didn't think it was Tarkin. I just thought it was an officer. * a little bit later * Okay, well, according to Wookieepedia, the " superior officer " was Tarkin. I just didn't pick up on that. I may have to chuck that story into the fan fiction bin now.

Phraggle In reply to SpaceLordByron [2018-02-14 00:02:36 +0000 UTC]

Heh. I looked at the story again. The officer really doesn't read like it's Tarkin. But, maybe that's what they were going for.
