Also a fan of low key images. Beautiful model and interesting pose. The almost square crop does not complement or add to the dynamic of the pose. The image is also tightly cropped, leaving little head room. This technique can be used effectively when the artist is going for a sense of tension. To me, low key generally means high contrast. This shot appears to be captured in a low light setting and the speckling this shadows makes it seem as if the Β tones have been brought back with post work. It is definitely moody. Using a gridded light will help to produce the high contrast in the shadows and highlights.

it's beautiful how the soft shapes are sculptured by the smooth balance between shadow and light.
I'm not sure whether a more...natural and a bit less "arty" pose would have suit the composition better (if her left arm for instance were more relaxed),
but to be honest.... I wouldn't be the first person that I would ask about that.
It's a very lovely study. No matter what.
I'd only be curious to know what the update was, because I do not know the prior version.
