What's striking with your photos is indeed the impact it has on me (and many others i'm sure of). This photo is no diffrent. The focus is just right for this shot, and the muted tones gives me a great sence of that this is something to be rememberd. So does the treatment of the photo and the slight hint of texture you used. With this touch i get such a dreamlike feeling, it's not a sad feeling more of a wonderful feeling of tresured memories. I think the grass infront is a brilliant way to seduce the eye to follow the field and woman.
You seem to be setting a new trend here on dA with your style in photography, but your style of work is by far the best i've seen. I gave it a little less for originality just because i've seen this before but well not something with this great impact.
Fantastic work, and keep it up because you are truly shining bright.

well, to be perfectly honest, it was a totally spontaneous and unprepared shot, as we were just looking for an interesting place to take photos with my model
but let's pretend that it was prepared, the composition was studied, and all this, blah blah blah

I'm not a fan of textures, but, like any "off-the-wall" technique, when used appropriately, as it is in this case, they are a powerful way to reinforce the message of the image. I love the out of focus subject, because it allows me, the viewer, to interpret the image according to my own emotions and experiences rather than dictating terms to me. For me, this enhances the value of the dialogue between the viewer, the work, and via the agency of that work, with the artist.
An eloquent, gently understated image.

Hi,
I like the impact this picture has on me. Why is she climbing that hill? Is it to overlook the sea, and hope her husband, the sailor, is returning soon? Is it because life is too much for her? Is it a daily work-out? You could fantasize so many stories with this picture, amazing. That is in particular what makes me love artwork like this, the stories that are told.
I like the old-style of the picture, even scratches and all. The B/W emphasizes this look and that is a good choice. The blur is a bit too much for my taste, but that is only a personal opinion. I am very sure there are many people loving this. I would prefer a bit more sharpness though.
All together a memorable picture. Very well done!

for the blur thing, i really can understand your point of view, it's not the first time i submit works where the main subject is blur, but i personnaly prefer when there are some sharp zones in the photo
i just thought that this one was expressive enough and could stand all this blur

So pretty. The texture reminds me of an old film, not so smooth or clean but expressive all the more. A second of life, you're the one to decide the direction of your next step but you can't be scared of making that decision.
Her figure also talks its own language, to me it says "Would someone loan me wings, I'd fly and try to find what I know I'm missing."
I get a slightly blue feeling here yet I think it makes this capture really beautiful and gentle.
