Technical you all can say 'Dont sell stuff made from my patterns' till your blue in the face, but there is nothing you can do. The law only protects the pattern, and it is seen as a tool so whats made using it can be sold, bartered, gifted at will. Which sucks, but thems the kicks.
You put alot of effort into making the pattern, but what about people who pay you money, and take the time to painstakingly make one? Should they not profit from their hard work, from materials and tools they paid for?

I can't croquet, because I am believe that knitting is just as capable of making 'stuffies' as croqueting is. But this is awesome.

Yes its actually yarn also :3 It is stitched on over top in a thin line then brushed with a wire brush to make it fluffy. I'm putting it in the pattern tutorial as well as on here for everyone who asks about it. Thank you for your interest! I am trying to shoot for Monday as my finishing day since my camera is broken. I'll get to use another one then. About 25 have asked but I'm still releasing it.

Since I know of at least 2 FREE patterns that are realy nice of a Haku like dragon I would say $10 is a bit much for just a pdf and no hard copy (google 'crochet dragon Haku')
Your finished version is beautiful, but chances are no one will have their first try at it turn out just a nice. So for just a pdf copy where we hold no rights to do as we wish with the finished items I would say a price more around $5 would be more then fair and more people would be able to afford it and be more likely to buy. Keep in mind the higher the price the fewer sales, the lower the price the more you will sell IE low price= better profits for you.

Yes I've seen those free patterns too but they aren't like mine. People can choose to use those if they want. A few days ago it wasn't available to anyone. So if I'm going to release it it has to make up for the commissions I will lose on it. I rarely see any detailed patterns anymore under $5. The best ones I've seen are $10-$15. It will stay at $10 and because of every jerk who will take it and sell it despite what I said. I am so freaking tired of everyone bull crap. Because of this it will be the only one I ever release. And even then it will be to a select few.

I would actually suggest getting an etsy account, and selling the pattern there. Patterns sell particualarly well on etsy.

I have an Etsy it just isn't a sellers account. I can't get a sellers account because I don't have a credit card unfortunatly. I wish I could, I could reach a larger audience.

I'm putting some links together for crochet beginners. Ravelry is a good website to go to for free patterns to practice with. I went there when I first started.

I can't guarantee I would be able to purchase the pattern, but I would certainly like to. My mom adores dragons and it would make a nice Christmas present for her.

wait.. So I couldn't use the pattern to make as a gift? My friend has a dragon in the eastern sort of style, and this pattern would be perfect.. I tried making it and all I got was a snake with legs...

I'd probably buy it but, and I'm not saying I intend to sell it, in the United States you don't legally have the right to forbid people from selling what they make from your pattern, once they make something it's theres to do with as they please. I make and sell patterns myself so I know how it feels but it's the way it is. Of course, overlooking the fact that your selling this could be considered a trademark infringement from Studio Ghibli. I hope it works out though.
