Description
Like before with my previous infoboxes, this alternate history infobox was inspired by my deviation "World Flags map - If the borders were drawn by me ". This particular infobox focuses on the Faroe Islands, which in this timeline are fully independent from Denmark. In our timeline, in 1946, there had been an independence referendum held in the Faroe Islands, with the results being held in favor of independence. Independence was declared on 18 September 1946, but was effectively annulled following Faroese parliamentary election of 1946, where the anti-independence parties gained the majority. In this timeline, the pro-independence parties manage to keep their majority in the Faroese parliament, which guarantees the islands' independence. Shortly thereafter and still on this year, following negotiations, the Danish government recognizes the Faroe Islands' independence.
