It's based on the old tale of Daedalus and his son Icarus
Icarus was imprisoned so Daedalus made wings for Icarus to fly away and escape with, but the wings were held together with wax. So Daedalus told Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, but Icarus didn't listen, the wings melted and Icarus fell to his death

i had come across this piece awhile ago, the first of your work i had seen.....still one of my favs. so much truth about love here.......how we can love someone so much even though it may be causing us pain at the same time....or causing the one we love more pain........whenever we get close one of us gets hurt. love your work so much! keep on keeping on.
