Mei Tachibana is 16 years-old, but has spent her high school years without making friends or having a boyfriend because of a childhood incident that the left her believing that people will betray her sooner or later. At first she is described as "freakishly gloomy" and "doesn't speak". She is very honest, observant, and very clumsy epsecially with cooking and or baking. Mei catches the attention of one of the most popular guys in school, Yamato Kurosawa, after she kicks him down the stairs and injures him. Yamato then takes an interest in Mei, so he starts following her around thus giving her his number. On retruning home from work Mei notices that a male customer is stalking her and decieds to call Yamato, he comes rushing to her and lures the stalker away by acting as her boyfriend and stealing her first kiss?!
