In this timeline,the PoD is in 1974,when Muammar Gaddafi’s proposal for unification of Libya and Tunisia is accepted,leading to the creation of Arab Islamic Republic. In a few decades,from Algiers to Damascus,this new state would soon encompass much of the Arab world,becoming a major power in the world stage.

In 1976,Mao dies,and Gang of Four manages to acquire power shortly after. This means that Deng Xiaoping’s reforms are never implemented,and China is converted into a far more draconian dictatorship. Gang of Four also pursues an far more aggressive foreign policy,resulting in the entirety of Indochina(except Thailand) being turned into Chinese satelite states. With USSR declining,and eventually falling into civil war,China replaces the USSR as the main communist power.

Dissolution of 1991 is prevented,but Kazakhistan's and Ukraine's goverments fall into ultranationalist movements,the most belirigent of these being the Movement For Kazakh Vengeance. Later on,this movement captures several nuclear silos,which are launched at key Russian cities. As retaliation,Russia launches back as well. This is not enough to end the war,and large swathes of Kazakhstan become uninhabitable. Disconnected from Moscow due to fallout,the other Central Asian republics declare independence,the exception being Turkmenistan. The war is unoffically over,but this does not stop the balkanisation,and Maoists at Vladivostok,funded heavily by China,and NATO supported democrats in Moscow rise up,along with several ethnic republics,balkanising Russia even further. The rump goverment at Novosibirsk is now sandwiched between 2 rebellions.

Saddam Hussein also takes power far later in this timeline,and USSR imploding this badly convinces Saddam to postpone his plans to invade Kuwait,seeking for AIR’s assistance. Before he can enact his plans however,an border skirmish between Saudi and Iraqi forces in 2001 errupts the Saudi-Iraqi war,which AIR gets involved. 9/11 is a far worse attack in this timeline,as a dirty bomb errupts in the one of the busiest sections of New York. The attack is blamed on AIR-funded terrorists. The resulting public outroar is enormous,and USA(and shortly after NATO,except for Britain) intervenes in Saudis’ side. After several years of fighting,nukes are launched,and much of Western Europe and North Africa lie in ruins. A big part of Sahara and Arabian Desert become wastelands,and both AIR and NATO dissolve. The war is unoffically over. The fallout in the north,combined with a refugee crisis,combines the fragile nations of Sub-Saharan Africa to implode,throwing the region into complete anarchy. Britain is spared of nuclear attacks,withdrawing shortly after the war went nuclear,staying the only intact state. This “shellshock” soon prompts a far-right coup,and Britain attempts to restore its empire,now that much of its’ trade partners are reduced to ruins. Guyana,India,Venezuella,Ireland,an even France are the first victims of this expansion. Poland,unaffected by the war,becomes the second major power,recreating Intermarium for the surviving states of Europe.

China,seeing that America was distracted in Arabia,decides to invade Japan and South Korea,opening the Pacific Theater. South Korea and Japan are taken over rather easily,and Chuotka and Kamchatka is seized “temporarily”,much to the dismay of Vladivostok goverment. The seizure of Kamchatka and Chutoka makes the invasion of Alaska and Seattle possible,and soon a invasion of American mainland is enacted. But PLA has overstretched themselves extremely,and both the domestic and outer situation is getting worse,and various partisan movements have taken over entire regions.

This is not to say that America isn’t suffering from the same problems,however. Several independence movements,such as Texas and California grow in numbers,and soon the increasing repression,inaction to deal with poverty and other issues causes an Third Continental Congress to form,starting a civil war.

South America hosts a guerilla war between Integralist Brazil and Shining Path Peru and their satelites also. During all this fighting,an fertility problem begins to be seen. Slowly,birth rates plummet,and experts are speechless. Some claim that it is caused by nuclear fallout,meanwhile other theories suggest supernatural elements. To solve this crisis,various scientists,mostly fleeing London’s oppression,gather in Iceland to form the Human Project. This organisation contains bases in Iceland,Gambia and the Azores,which get shelled by the British navy every day.

Even after 30 years,there is still no clear winner.
