I disagreed with this fight by a lot

well actually; a Tommy Gun has significantly inferior range to a rifle, even an old rifle. Tommy Guns are very chaotic weapons. And they test these battles at every setting.

I do agree that the pineapple grenade was an odd choice for Capone.

Thompson submachine guns beats anything and everything the James brothers had. Cadillacs beat horses, unless the chase occurs over rough terrain, over distances great enough to exhaust a Cadillac's fuel tank. Al Capone's gang is far larger, wealthier, and more powerful than the James brothers'- as I said, Thompson submachine guns beat Colt Single Army Action revolvers.

Game over, cowboy.

for the record, the Tommy Gun has almost no action in modern war nowadays. It's a submachine gun, it's not an assault rifle. It lacks long range percision. This is why Jesse won, his rifle is a rifle. A submachine gun doesn't have the range of a rifle, even old ones. Especially when you consider that the Tommy Gun is not that younger than the Winchester. One of the only reasons the Winchester was replaced was because lever-action is awkward in trench warfare, it wasn't that inferior to wwi guns.

Jesse could function at close range and dominate at long range. Capone could only win by getting in close; but that's difficult to do against cowboys who are used to hit-an-runs.

Al Capone's peers- including Clyde Barrow, of "Bonnie and Clyde" fame- can also get BROWNING AUTOMATIC RIFLES. The range, stopping power, and rate-of-fire for those things, is far superior to anything the James brothers had.

Bonnie and Clyde had no affiliation with Capone. It's like saying Iraq and North Korea are the same since they both are enemies of America at the same time: it's obviously not the case.

If Clyde Barrow can get Browning Automatic Rifles, why can't Al Capone? Both men were operating in the Continental US, at approximately the same time. This is NOT like comparing Iraq and North Korea, this is like comparingΒ Saddam Hussein'sΒ Iraqi Army withΒ Saddam Hussein'sΒ Republican Guard.

you're acting like mafias are a bunch of spetsnaz-ninjas. You're ignoring that Capone is FAMOUS for his tommyguns. Look at the Godfather; they are about 2 decades after Capone in their setting; still uses Tommyguns and Shotguns.

Gangs don't fight fair like real armies, they ambush and assassinate. and that alone isn't enough, they need to scare. Look at the Medelin Cartel: uzis and carbombs are not as elite or precise as M4s or China Lakes. But the gang wants to scare the shit out of their enemies; uzis ambush while still dishing out the lead, carbombs are fucking carbombs.

modern gang warfare is dominated by terrorism and fear. Killing alone isn't enough. look at modern drug wars and you'll see so many violent torturous executions and disembodiment. a Spetsnaz just shoots a dude and leaves. Warriors kill to survive and conquer. Gangs threaten to dominate with fear.

What makes you think Jesse James' gang was anything but a criminal and TERRORIST organization?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pikazilla1956 In reply to ArmamentDawg [2015-10-13 11:24:04 +0000 UTC]

maybe, though the James-Yonger Gang focused on theift instead of dominating the criminal underground and they survived on their supposed 'Robin Hood' reputation to gain support instead of force alone. how does this matter anyways to a FIGHT?

ArmamentDawg In reply to Pikazilla1956 [2015-10-13 15:55:52 +0000 UTC]

You specifically stated "modern gang warfare is dominated by terrorism and fear," as if Jesse James' gang was different from Al Capone's in terms of their tactics or their day-to-day activities.

Jesse actually fought in a war. Capone, to my knowledge, never did. He didn't have the same combat experience Jesse and Frank had.

Tommy Guns are actually very inaccurate, alot of people don't realize this. Besides it did do ALOT of damage in the sim, but whatever.

DrRichoften In reply to Pikazilla1956 [2013-06-27 01:41:04 +0000 UTC]

ok first off there was only 2 models of the actual Tommy Gun besides it's more sucsessful M1A1 Thompson

Al Capone used the most accurate tommy gun made...The M1927 with it's simi auto fire and full auto. it was very accurate and plus it was a lot more accurate with the 2nd handle.

xD that is soooooo true. Well Jesse James would have kicked ass and wiped them out anyway, they just got off easy. Awesome fight, loveed watching them jesse younger gang boys tear up those fat little rich kid mafia pricks lol

The guy who played Jesse, the one to shoot Capone in the end was downright perfect portrayal damn near handsome as hell too

I didn't really like Jesse James VS Al Capone. First off, Pistol whip isn't a weapon; it's a technique. Secondly, How the fuck did the Tommy Gun get the edge over Jesse James Colt Revolvers!? I know it shoots alot of bullets but it's accuracy is balls and the people on the show said "Anybody can use it and therefore, it's better." We are talk about a Chicago gangster and his gang facing off against a group of professional bandits, not the average joe

1- Hey, the pistol whip saved my life. I killed 20 zombies in a l4d2 level thanks to the pistol whip.
2- Uh... you're like the only guy who thinks pistols are better than a tommy gun, i never heard that complaint before. They both have the same range but the tommy gun has >50 rounds and a high rate of fire- there's a reason why tommy guns were more commonly used in WW1 AND WW2 than pistols.

XYZExtreme13 In reply to Pikazilla1956 [2012-01-07 17:54:39 +0000 UTC]

I understand that the Tommy gun has alot more rounds but the Revolves, the guy could draw them and fire his first bullet in like half a second and that is why I think the Revolvers were better in my opinion

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pikazilla1956 In reply to XYZExtreme13 [2012-01-07 18:25:27 +0000 UTC]

Drawing a weapon works only at the very beginning of the fight, after that the weapons are all fully drawn and so firing them will be at the same speed. Also, Napoleon had a faster gun and got his ass kicked in that category for not bringing a freaking rifle to the fight.
There are other weapons, but a tommy gun vs pistols remind me why a Baseball Bat won against Nunchaku- instant lethality vs flashy speed.

If Jesses bro didn't show up Capone would have slaughtered Jesse. Have you noticed that the Jesse James gang ran and hid from the Capone gang.... cowards man lol. Don't get me wrong I have mad respect for Jesse but I have bigger respect for Al Capone.

2- i would find some cover if my foe has 3 tommy guns!
3- ... i got nothing to say for #3
