The quote is my own, thats what I thought when the spartan fought the ninja. You know sometimes these fights an be completley unfair. For instance the Spetznaz against the IRA? Thats not fair! Wouldn't it have made more sens eot have pitted the Ninja against the Samurai? Oh well, I still love this show. Originally I wanted to make something about how pissed I was when Capone lost to James, but couldn't find any pictures from last nights episode so i did this instead. I could easily say "Okay, Jesse James is the better man." But I can't! It pisses me off that Capone was beating the shit out of James and then one of James' men comes in and kills Capone. They really need to fix that so Jamse kills Capone. Plus they should've used the bat instead of the brass knuckles. Please enjoy, comment and fav.EDIT: OK yes, it doesn't make sense that the Ninja would fight the Samurai in the show since they fought in real life. I was just trying to think about more of a fair fight.

I saw this and I was pretty annoyed, too. I mean, the fact of the matter is that ninjas didn't exactly battle. They were meant to be sneaky and shit. If they tried to take on a Spartan 1v1 like they depicted, they'd lose, lol.

Actually, I have made several fights that are fair in my opinion:
Pirates vs French Musketeers
Cowboys vs Confederate Soldiers(US)
Alexander the Great vs Joan of Arc
Highlander warrior vs Gladiator
Spartan vs Roman Centurion

Ha! It's that massive shield! I could kill an elephant with one of those things! Also if you want to talk about unfair, look at what the vikings got. A man using a long-sword like a rapier where the samurai was decapitating things.

But ninja vs samurai were pretty much the thing for nearly 500 years! The winner was army cavalry!

No, it wouldnt make sense for samurai vs ninja, they kill samurais for a living, so not much effort the ninjas need to put into fighting them

Yeah, I didn't know what I was thinking when I said Ninjas should Samurai, maybe I thought it would have been more fair of a fight.
The SWAT vs. GSG9 episode pisses me off as well but only being that they're counter terrorist groups, to me two groups of people who are on the same side fighting each other just doesn't make sense to me.
The reason why I thought the IRA vs. Spetsnaz was an unfair fight because The Spetsnaz were specially trained killing machines while the IRA were quite literally peasants with slingshots. I mean come, it was in the Spetsnaz favor the whole time. Hell, pit them against any other warrior and they would win all the damn time.

Yes indeed XD, but the IRA were pretty smart, and the last one they beat was the Taliban, THEY should be in Iraq, not the US, well, no one shuld be there, but anyway, the IRA did have startegy and technological advantages like bombs (ex:Nail bomb), unlike the Taliban which usually just POP out of no where and go "ALACHMAD AGALALALLALA" and shoot AK's everywhere, sending in suicidal bombers...

Nah, the ninjas actually fought the samurais in history. It's much more fun when they have warriors who never even met in history fight each other. Besides, I didn't think Spartan Vs. Ninja was too one-sided. With the ninja's speed & experience with attacking better armed (& better armored) opponents, I figured he stood a fighting chance. Heck, I thought he had the Spartan right where he wanted him once he'd taken away the guy's spear & javelin, but the outcome surprised me.
PS: Thanks for spoiling the outcome of the Jesse James gang vs. the Al Capone mob. I understand it wasn't intentional, but it's still a bit annoying after I've been trying to dodge spoilers on the outcomes of the Season 2 episodes I haven't seen yet.
PPS: Seriously? The guys with Tommy guns lost out to the guys with six-shooters? How the heck did that happen?

Incidentally, now that I've seen the episode I read into it on Wikipedia, & apparently that wasn't just some member of Jesse's gang that saved his hide from Al Capone: it was his older brother Frank James!

Yeah I had found out about that a few months ago, which still pisses me off considering that it was Al Capone vs. Jesse James, not Al Capone vs. Frank James. But overall I thought Al Capone was cheated: I didn't think it was fair that Capone was given the brass knuckles (which are designed for hurting not killing) and Jesse James was given a gun and the fact that the Capone team was made of two twits who had no idea what they were doing (like the Tomy Gun, remember how in Mafia vs. Yakuza that the Tomy gun hit all of it's targets with almost every bullet but in this episode they barley hit any?)
I don't know, I think if Capone had the same weapons as the Mafia had and two competent people he would have won.

What'd you think of the Celt vs Persian episode? Personally, I don't think the Persians deserve to be called warriors in the SLIGHTEST. When I saw them testing the axe, I'm like, "Yeah, as if a Celt is going to just LET you take his shield away. YOU FAIL!!!"

I agree on some of the match ups, I was however happy with the Jesse James fight. I also believe that they should have matched the ninja with the samurai and the Viking with the Spartan.

Actually I think the guy who was fighting Capone in the cell was just a member of the James team and the person who made the kill-shot with the Winchester was Jesse himself.

what wasn't fair about Spetsnaz v. IRA? besides, it was only a bonus match at the end of the season.
and the thing is, it was possible for the samurai and the ninja to meet in battle, so that was out of the question lol but spartan v. Ninja was totally unfair- i mean, armor and shield beats small weapons, while the ninnjas had NO armor and the spartans had LARGE weapons XP

The thing that wasn't fair was that The Spetsnaz were soldiers trained to feel no pain and to kill. The IRA were people who had no training and fought with whatever they had. The were literally peasants with slingshots compared to the Spetsnaz.

I don't think it's necessarily about fairness.. I could call the ninja being unfair for using cheap shots or the pirate for using guns.. when really it's just about what made each of these cultures effective in what they did. As for the IRA vs Spetsnaz it wasn't really an organized match.. those 2 were just the lucky ones who had been the most successful in the modern matchups. The Green Beret vs Spetsnaz match is where they proved victorious, and that was a very close match. It was just a process of elimination with all of the winners from the season and IRA were the next best..
Just don't forget that this show is all about answering hypothetical questions out of curiosity, because everyone likes to wonder what would actually happen. I consider most of their matchups to be pretty well thought out.. this is why they didn't pit a pirate against a gladiator.. they instead face him against the most likely thing that could stand a good chance, and that's a trained knight covered in plate armor.

Why would they pit the ninja against the samurai when they've already fought in battle? That isn't the point of this show. And as they have stated in the aftermath episodes (which I recommend you watch on spiketv.com) they're not trying to make it "rock vs rock" because in my personal opinion.. i think that anyone who is stepping into the Spartan's "arena" and their way of fighting they is going to lose because Spartans play their game better than any. However if you bring in a warrior who fights nothing like a Spartan then you have something interesting there and both sides will have several advantages over each other (rock vs scissors). This is why ninja's could effectively kill samurai, because they were designed to specifically take out the samurai's weak points instead of fighting them in full battle gear and playing the samurai's game.

To be fair, it was in question up to the point where the ninja's blade met spartan armor. You didn't know if the fact that the spartans were using bronze as opposed to ninjas' superior steel would be the determining factor. The moment you saw that the armor was able to stop the blade in its tracks, you realized that if the ninja didn't get around the armor, he was screwed. Seeing as how that shield doubled as a weapon as well as a second layer of armor..ouch time.

Ninja weapons were made to cut and slice through linked plates not puncture thick bronze over wood shields.

Well yes and no really. True the Persians did kill all 300 Spartans, but their army was so crippled they had to go back. And in the long run Greece won.

What's your point? Sparta lost it's place as a Greek superpower. Ninjas held there position of power until decent guns came to japan, and that didn't happen until 1853.

Don't you think its hard to compare how long the Spartans were in power to the Ninjas? Its like comparing Barton Fink to Fargo, it can't be done. Plus we have Mercenaries and Hit men today, who are essentially the same thing as Ninjas.

I can bet you any amount of money if Deadliest Warrior brought the ninjas tactics into play then the ninja would have beaten the spartan. But no it all comes down to who has the better weapon.

lol, they took a lot more things into play than you think. You should watch the aftermath episode on spiketv.com, they answer a lot of upset ninja fans who think the same way you do.
Btw it's honestly ridiculous to straight up say that a Spartan cannot fight alone.. they were excellent in 1 on 1 combat, just way better in formation.. we're not talking about Roman centurions here.
In the end it all comes down to this.. the ninja is an assassin, and the Spartan is a warrior. If these 2 met on the battlefield then the ninja has already lost his main advantage. If the ninja crept up to a Spartan in his sleep then there's your ninja victory. But this isn't Deadliest Assassin. So instead they take the ninja out of his element and the spartan out of his as well since he is not with his group, and see who would win if they "fought" eachother.
