This is a friend of mine from Nova Scotia, Canada! (Practically Family)First drawing SOLD!!!!
He is the son of my Pastor and he is in Amy serving his country
He came down for Christmas to see all of us and then he asked me to draw him and of course i said yes!
He gave me a pic of himself and i drew it, and it looks just like this! Yes, he looks serious but thats what the pic looks like lol
Took me about 2 hours or less than three.
Graphite- A lot of different shades.... not sure really lol

first off wow. This is really good! I couldn't draw something like this, no matter how hard I try...
And I especially love the way you drew the hair! It looks so realistic~
with that being said, I'm going to attempt a suitable critique ^____^;;;
The face is amazingly detail and so realistic looking, while the shirt is rather cartoon like. If you spent more time detailing the clothes, for example adding wrinkles or more shading, then it would look less awkward. The same goes for the ear. Though I think the ear just need a little bit more shading...
The left shoulder (his right) looks a little cartoon like as well. You drew it as a sharp slope, which makes it appear two dimensional. If you made more square like in shape, it would look more realistic.
I suggest looking at other artists work and photos of people for references. That's always helped me when I'm not sure how do draw something. I especially love these groups: [link] [link]
the stock and reference picture in their galleries are so helpful o3o
so, just spend more time on the other details.

I think what's distracting me in this picture is how spotty the shading looks, it just doesn't seem very neat...

What I mean is the dark spots on the picture where you shaded have a lot of white spots all over the place..

This is amazing. I love this, he must have been very happy to know you'd graciously draw him. Anyway, this is a really nice drawing with a nice story behind it.
