Description This is another homework, from my Introduction to Illustration Design class. For this exercise, our teacher told us to find an article that catches our interest and draw out an illustration based on that article. We could also use any type of paper (I used a yellow colored paper) but we could only use black fineliner pens. I had two articles, one was about pasta and the other was about unique bars in Europe. Guess what I picked B]

Anyway, I selected elements from each bar that was unique or interesting and pieced them together to create a composition. I had lots of fun using different lines. A lot of the bars showcased this Victiorian era feel like a birdcage for a DJ area, menus written in vintage books, locked drawers for safekeeping, old gin bottles, and the whole interior designed to take you back in time.

To my surprise, my teacher actually liked it. 8D I don't know if it was graded *shot*

thanks for dropping by!

I like how you made use of the space. I keep wanting to look at the empty area because it is so empty compared to the rest of the drawing. (Plus, the keys also remind me of flags, so they seem to fill two roles here.) I bet you got a good grade for this one.

thanks! ^u^ it's something i picked up in my Design and Elements class, gotta give an image breathing space. otherwise, it would have looked too cluttered. (cool! that's an interesting view of the keys) haha i hope so! xD;;

Oh VERY cool. The flow of the design, the clever use of depth and size, the strong and confident linework...this is pretty solid stuff.

It's a tough act to balance, but I'd say it did indeed work out.

A different style from you, but quite successful. I might say this is quite refreshing and impressive!

thank you! xD our teacher encouraged us to go out of our comfort zone and it's quite a fun experiment.

I like how you can do a piece with non-manga/ anime style...
And this is so abstract~
