Description These are three little half masks that I finished yesterday. They are all made from 3-4 oz leather and painted with acrylic paint. I love making these little guys because they are pretty quick to make, and they look fabulous when worn. I'll have to try to get some made with feathers before halloween.

They are available in my Etsy shop

The green and black is one of my favorite color combinations. It just glows in person.

Oh my Goodness! How lng did it take you to paint all those designs? I have tried to make masks with that much detail and heres what happened:
One I took hours to do it
and Two they turned out not so great, we'll just say that!
Did you use a stencil or something?

No, I have just done enough of them that I can freehand the decoration. It only took about an hour to paint the ornaments on all 3. You have to paint parts of it and then wait for it to dry though.

The paint is the secret because it comes in a tube like superglue with a really long fine applicator tube. It makes it way easier to use than the typical squeeze jar applicator for fabric paint.

Ohhhh! I was using the smallest PAINTBRUSH I could find, which explains why it took so long and did not turn out that great! I will have to try the 'secret paint' sometime...
You can use the fabric paint that comes in the tubes though, right? Or should I not use that on leather?

Oh and have you ever thought about getting a booth at a Renaissance Festival? I bet you might make some good money there!!

I may get a booth at Sherwood forest fair which is in the Austin area for next year. I have to decide by october. The paint is Pebeo glass paint outliners. You can use fabric paints in the tubes but you get a thicker line and you get problems with air bubbles. Columbina on Etsy uses those fabric paints if you want to see an example.

That would be cool! I bet you'll make a lot of money, people at Renaissance Fairs love stuff that looks cool, is made very well and thw people who put time into them arr very nice!!

Thanks for the advice! I will be sure to check into that! I like how the paint of the designs kinda sticks out, is that a result of using the glass paint liner or the fabric paint? Or is that just because of the way you apply it?
Thanks for all your help, I know I'm asking a lot of questions...
Cheers!!

The paint is actually dimensional so that is why it sticks out a bit. It is made for making the fake leading for fake stained glass
