When I collected these when I was much younger I preferred wooden since take along was not created. When take along did form I stayed with the wooden railway since I had so many of those characters. I did have some take along characters but wooden railways was always my favorite. But I do like the extra detail put in take along now that I am old enough to care about detail quality.
