I used to go birding a lot in a nearby park. sometimes i took a sketchbook with me and sketch every pose of every birds i see,but only a quick, several seconds only, just outline or just a stick bird, because the main goal is not the detail but the pose.
and whenever i feel like it at home, i practice with those sketch. connecting the dots and lines to make a bird.
I'm pretty sure i still have those buried somewhere deep in the dungeon of my old room at the old place o]---[
I still do those sometime, it doesn't have to be a park, since there are birds everywhere. I look out the window of my class, see bird, and make a doodle :>
