And the great blues in Florida seem less skittish than our herons in Wyoming. No idea why.

That must have been frustrating! The ones I'm used to in Wyoming are fairly shy. But here I've seen them hang out on the beach just ten feet away from people. Go figure.

Are the ones in Wyoming Bluer? Do these birds get more colorful during mating season? Nice reflection here, especially at the tail--and I like his (her?) long, thin beak parallelling the frame.

No, I think the Great Blues are pretty much the same everywhere. But the lighting can really alter their color in a photograph.
